IT'S SPRINGING OUT

After having gotten used to a 6 foot pile of snow on the front lawn (not to mention a 7 foot pile out back), seeing the lawn and gardens again is quite refreshing.

Hubby has been working a lot of overtime of late so it was all he could do to finally get outside the other night and at least rake the yards. The actual gardening will most likely have to wait until his vacation next month, but for now at least it looks tidy out there again.

Yesterday evening I saw a rabbit that was still pretty much still all white, but this morning I see a brown one (almost entirely) snoozing in our front garden. They sure love our house!

It has been nice to have a lot of sunshine and warm temperatures. With the exception of a little sprinkle the other day we haven't had any rain and we really could use some to clean and freshen things up.

For my birthday last week my sis Pammie bought me some roses, aren't they a pretty colour? If it wasn't for her I'd never get flowers, LOL!

I had a lovely family birthday party at my sis Brenda's last weekend. The company was fabulous as always, and so was the food. She made a chicken dish that was TO DIE FOR...... chicken breasts in an Apricot/Romano Cheese sauce, with coleslaw and home-made biscuits. And an assortment of cheesecake slices for dessert. Yum!

I got a book and 2 more gift cards to my favourite clothing store, and I'll be using them up for sure. Thanks family and hubby!! xoxoxox

Whenever my birthday comes around it's actually like a birthday "month", as I also have get-togethers with friends.

I've been out a couple of times for dinner and visits, and in 2 weeks I'll be taken out by my best friend Michele and another friend. Looking forward to that!

I hope the spring weather is lovely wherever you are. Take good care of each other!

Thanks Vince, and it's still on-going! From February to April are almost all of my family birthdays, late winter and spring are busy here!

Rabbits, spring and green grass. That all sounds much more appealing than all of the snow you had.

We have had our fair share of rain, in fact that's all it seems to do here is rain. Today was the first sunny day we have had in a long time. It sure was nice. Guess what? Tomorrow more rain!

Glad that you had a great birthday. It sounds nice to celebrate your birthday all month long. Food, Family & Friends sounds nice - especially the food part!

I'm glad Spring has sprung for you. Take care.

Yes it's nice to see the green again that was underneath all that snow this past winter!

The friends, family and food has been spectacular, and it's not over yet! LOL

The roses are beautiful! I love the colour! I'm glad you had such a nice birthday.

It may be Spring but it's sure not very warm out my way. We've had the odd nice day with lots or rainy days in between.

Hope you have a great weekend. Take care!

We could use a little rain, and you could use some sunshine. Sometimes it's just not fair is it!

I hope it warms up for you soon Bobbie, have a good weekend!

At the beginning of May the local Seattle area TV stations reported that the average temp in Seattle for the month of April was the lowest ever recorded and that record goes back to something like 1894. And it was very wet. I haven't paid attention to the precipitation figures for April but do remember seeing that by March 14th that month had already exceeded the average amount of rainfall.

But, when I look at what has been happening in the mid-west and southern parts of the US, I guess I really can't complain too much. And we are starting to see the occasional day where the high temp goes over 60.

You're right Dick, we have had it much better than some places for sure. This week it's hitting right around the 70F mark for highs here. Any warmer than that and I start getting hot. LOL
