BODY PART POST!!! SORT OF......

My hair has always been long, well except for once when I decided to try it shorter (chin length) years ago. I had it layered and long for a long time until about 5 years ago when I decided to just grow it out all one length again, as it's easier to straighten. Most people with straight hair that I know always say the same damn thing to me: "Oh I would give anything to have your "curly" hair!!" I can't even begin to get them to understand that it's not "curly", or "wavy"......it's friggin' kinky and frizzy! I HATE MY HAIR! I've grown up hating it, I still hate it, and I always will hate it! I spend half my life straightening it, with a blowdryer and a hot air brush with a huge barrel on it. It's a pain in the ass and a lot of work, yes, but I can't stand it frizzy and lookin' like an overblown afro. Anyway, it's long and slightly wavy when it's straightened, baby fine and soft. HOWEVER........ like my Dad's side of the family, I didn't start to find any gray hair until later in my life, and now, at 52 yrs. old, it's finally starting to show more. My Mom had the most beautiful silver colour, and I'm hoping that mine will be the same colour. So I'm curious, and not in any hurry to colour it.
Anyhoo, you tell me ~ does the kinky shit not look gross??? Ptui!!! Here's when I let it go without straightening it, for a short period of time back in the 80's, compared to today, straightened and shiny. (hard to see how long it is in that pic though):

It's funny how some women see gray hair. Most ladies I know would rather die than have anybody see even one gray hair on their head. Me, I don't really care, it's actually a right of passage in my humble opinion. And unless the colour gray is yellowed or dirty looking, I rather think it can be striking. Anyway, I'm not saying that I won't ever colour it, right now I just don't think so. I'll see what it looks like when it gets there, LOL. The whole reason for this post, really, is that the other day at work, one of the girls (she's in her mid to late 30's) noticed the gray hair that is showing up on my head, particularly on the ends, where it is most easily noticed. There's still a lot of brunette in it at this point. She says "oh Jude you're going to have to get some colour on that huh?"
I just laughed and told her that it didn't bother me at all, and actually I was looking forward to seeing what it was going to look like! I think she thinks I'm a little nutty, LOL. Well, they all know me and understand that to be TRUE! So, maybe I'm different than a lot of women my age, but I don't mind if I end up looking like the perverbial "older hippie chick" with the long gray tresses....... that will eventually end up being up in a bun on my 80 yr. old head someday! Hey, it was good enough for my grandma, why not me?? LOL

Okay so it was a pretty "mild" body parts post for me, I know. Not to worry though, one of these days I'll find something on my ol' bod that's looking wonkier than usual, or doing weird things. And then I'll have fun describing it all to you, LOL. In the meantime, that's about it for that subject, and I'll move on ~~~

Hubby is tucked into bed and sawing logs in there as we speak, and sister Pammie is downstairs most likely relaxing in front of her computer before bed. I cooked us some supper tonight, which we enjoyed together up here. She still doesn't have a living room back yet, as all her kitchen stuff is still piled into it. But I did spend a few hours this afternoon cleaning and scrubbing some of the ceiling renovation mess down there, and put a few essentials back into her kitchen like coffee pot, toaster, etc. Once hubby is able to get the crown moldings up in there, she can have her house back again! He's working overtime and all weekend.......so we're not sure when he can get back at it. Sheesh, when it's all done, I'm going to have "separation anxiety" as she won't be up here every evening! But I'm sure she'll be happier to be back in her own space again.

Speaking of my sisters, the next youngest to me, Brenda, is having a birthday on Saturday!! So we'll be out at her place for a birthday dinner, cake and gifts. You've heard all my sisters' names now, more than likely....... Linda is the oldest (a year older than I am), then me, then Brenda, then Pam, who is the baby, LOL. Three of us have birthdays at the beginning of the year, Brenda in Feb., Pam in March, and me in April. Linda is a December baby. Hmmmm, wonder what happened there? I always told her she was from the milkman or the postman, LOL. (just kidding, sis!!)

Well, methinks I will take my lovely cup of tea and sit in my rocker and enjoy it before I head off to bed, graying hair and all, LOL Have a great Friday everyone, and take care of each other. PEACE!!

Love, Jude
