LET'S MAKE IT ABOUT LOVE, NOT DISCRIMINATION

Well, I've heard it now on two blogs tonight..... more bad mouthing about same sex marriage, this time in the U.S. What IS it exactly that some people don't understand about two decent individuals loving each other and wanting to spend their lives together? Who CARES if they are of the same sex? Obviously there are still people who take issue with that. The same kind of people who perhaps would bash people of different skin colour? Different religious beliefs? They must be the same kind of people, closed minded and not willing to even consider that those who they are prejudiced toward are just like them. Human beings!

I'm not even going to get into the issue of this latest bashing in the U.S. politically. I could give a flying shit. To me, it's just people being prejudiced about other people. Period. And it literally makes me sick.

I've said it before on this blog and I'm sure some of you will be reading it not for the first time and I hope you don't mind.... but it's SO worth repeating. If God thought it immoral or wrong for humans to be gay or lesbian, He wouldn't have made them that way. Why do some people insist on believing that it is a "choice" we humans can make? Do those same people think that they actually made the "choice" to be heterosexual one day?? That we can just wake up one adolescent morning and feel today is the day to make that decision that we will have to live by for the rest of our lives..... do I want to be gay or straight? And do they honestly think that if that were the case that anyone would really WANT to live with this kind of prejudice on purpose?

I have a really hard time understanding that kind of mindset. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't make any sense.

I said something to my friend Rich tonight..... and I stand by it. It's not "sick" for people of the same sex to love one another..... what IS sick, really sick, is the filthy and prejudiced mind that sees evil in it and teaches their children to hate like they do.

When humanity learns to love one another and celebrate our differences instead of hating, supressing and killing each other; this world will be a far, far better place to live in.

And once again, I publicly apologize to all my brothers and sisters who happen to be gay or lesbian for the wrong done to you by some of my straight brothers and sisters. I pray that one day they will all see the light.

The light of Love.
