SPRING RAINS

A day after this lovely sunset, the spring rains set in. We need a good washing away of leftover winter blahs, so this is actually welcome to some of us. And once the sun shines again, watch out because the foliage is going to POP!

Just like (and because of) TRUCKER BOB I have also discovered that my arthritis does indeed act up a whole lot when it rains. My arms have both been killing me since the weather turned damp. However we do need this rain so painkillers are my friend right now.

I have been regularly taking pictures of a few of the trees in my yards since the buds first started to appear. Once they are in bloom, I'll post the sequences of them from start to finish.

And inside, I bought myself a little something nice to spruce up my bathtub. I've had a shower shelf forever that is white plastic and so hard to keep clean. I think I got it 12 years ago. Recently I finally got something a lot better. It not only looks nicer but it's so much easier to keep clean.

Out with the old:

In with the new:

This new one actually holds more too, I really like it.

On another note, things have gone to hell in a handbasket at work again. We're such a small department and only have a handful of people in it. 3 of our staff are away at the same time (various times) this month so it leaves the rest of us having to once again work a lot of extra days. One girl is on a cruise for over a month, and while she's gone another one is off for a couple of weeks to get married, while yet another girl is away now in Africa for 3 months. *sigh* So as usual that means I'm working more for the next while. Starting tomorrow, I am working the next 3 Saturdays in a row, and some extra weekdays now and then as well. We're actually having to raid some of our other offices for staff to come help us out as well. When the cruise and wedding ladies are back, we're still short Saturday staff as the girl gone to Africa worked every Saturday. This just never seems to end, and it's getting depressing. For someone who only WANTS to work 3 days a week and no more than that, I can't see an end to this as there's always something keeping us short-staffed. Oh well, I have a job, right? And before anyone thinks I'm nuts, I DID work full time all my life until I took this job after searching for something only 3 days a week. I worked many, many 6 and 7 day weeks too, and finally got worn out. I even had a nervous breakdown and was really sick for a few years because of it. And these days being so tired all the time (not sleeping well and lack of energy due to mentalpause) it's a choice I've made to work less, and it really helps keep me sane and healthier. I don't know how my older sister works so much, I know she'd say it's because she has no choice but I know I'd kill myself doing that.

Well we'll see where it all leads to as the summer wears on. We can only hire so many bodies due to budgets, so it's not like our boss can just go hiring a bunch more people. One thing's for certain, I can't wait for my friend Vickytoria to come back at the end of the year from maternity leave. *wink*

On a happier note, my best friend Michele and another friend Leona took me out for dinner last night to celebrate my birthday from last week. We had a great visit, gossiped and bitched about work (we all work for the same company) and had lots of laughs. Thanks ladies!

And on a more mundane note, I have to get my laundry started. So I'm off and running, and wishing you all a good weekend coming up. Take good care of each other, and until next time.........

PEACE!
Love Jude
