DO CHICKENS REALLY HAVE FINGERS?

Well at Boston Pizza they do, and that's what I had with fries for dinner tonight. Funny, they sure don't LOOK like any 'fingers' I've ever seen, but they sure taste yummy. Tastes just like chicken ! Hooo boy I just crack my self up..... **ahem!** Okay call me a little tired peeps, sorry........ I just had dinner out with my friend Kimbie, who used to work with me many moons ago ~ she's now almost a full fledged air traffic controller. Thanks for the lovely visit Kimbie!!

So it was a fun kinda day, spent the afternoon out of the office on a bit of a "field trip" for some training in our Emergency Road Services department. It was fun and informative, and just a nice little change from the usual daily pace. They even fed us lunch, lol. As far as getting more sleep last night and not making it 4 bad nights in a row?? No chancey! Although I did a bit better and got a whole 4 hours last night. Do you know, I have had a whopping total of 9 hrs. sleep over the last 4 nights. OY. Well, tonight being my "Wednesday-Friday", I can sleep in and even have my usual nap tomorrow. So the baggage department of a 747 under my eyes will maybe only resemble one piece of baggage only by tomorrow afternoon. It's looking up!

I've added two new links to my list of far-out bloggers today, Debbie and Lisa ~ two more rockin' Leppy chicks! Both are great blogs and I love reading them. Debbie is dubbed "The Queen Bee", and Lisa is her "Sidekick". Welcome aboard ladies!

As I choose not to drive, I don't have a driver's license, so instead I have a Photo I.D. card. Well it's been 5 yrs. since my last one and it expires this month on my birthday. So, today at work I had the Registries staff do me up a new card, which also meant I had to have a new picture taken. Let me just say this ~ all my life I have always been fortunate to look waaaay younger than I am. Up until a few years ago anyway..... when they took my pic today it shows on a screen in front of you so that if you don't like it they just take another one. And right beside it on the screen shows your last picture, the one from 5 yrs. ago. Now, I look at my face every day in the mirror as I brush my teeth or wash my face or apply the warpaint, but for some reason I don't "see" myself in the mirror like I do when I see a picture of myself **gasp**. I'm looking at these two pics staring me in the face today, and I have to tell you that I got an instant depression on seeing just how much I've aged in the last 5 yrs.!! The old face is showing it's age finally I guess, lol. Let's just say that I think I really do look my age for once. I guess I'll just have to get used to it huh? Could be worse, I could be one of those people who actually look a lot older than they really are. See? There's always a silver lining in every cloud! Or a little spackle in every wrinkle.......lol.

It's funny how Kim and I were just exchanging thoughts on a previous post of mine about working with the public......and yesterday I took one of those phone calls from hell at work. This extremely rude member called and was snarky and cranky as all get out.....but I did what I always try to do, and was so sickeningly sweet to the bastard that by the time he hung up, he was sheepish, thanking me, and had the bee up his ass under control. And I thought "yeah Jude you DO a pretty fair job of it on the phone, girl", LOL. It's always been a thing with me to crack a smile on a crabby face.

Coming home today from training, we were on a really busy highway (Calgary trail) past a big hotel, just about to turn onto the freeway back to the west end of the city, and at the intersection where this hotel is, there were ambulances, police and firetrucks; traffic backed up and we could tell something really bad happened. As we drove by we could see this semi truck and trailer had gone diagonally off the highway and drove right up the curb, plowed into the parking lot and stopped just feet from the hotel wall.......... and there was what looked like a crushed flat car underneath the front wheels of the truck. It was BAD. And you can just imagine the trail of mess left when something that big and heavy plows it's way through things. It was the kind of scene where you know there has been death, and your stomach feels instantly sick. I'm sure we'll be seeing it on the news.

On a much lighter note ~ holy crap is it a gorgeous night out there!!! It's downright balmy and beautiful, one of those nights you can stand outside and just breathe in the air and feel all warm and fuzzy inside with nature. Simply lovely! I didn't want to come in the house. But I guess I would have looked a little strange to the neighbours standing out there on the front lawn in the dark, hugging my tree and smiling at the sky. Mind you, who cares what they think? I just may go back out there in my nightie and really give them something to talk about.

Well I'm off, and I'll leave you all with a wish for a great day tomorrow. PEACE!

Love Jude
