RAIN AND SUN, SHOWERS AND SUNFLOWERS

We are still trying to get used to a home empty of 2 very much loved pets who left this world within 5 short months of each other. We're getting there, it's not as it was at first and now we have sadness and some days that are better than others.

It's really the same as losing a beloved human: you feel shock, anger (why them??), grief, acceptance and sadness. Losing loved ones is never an easy path to travel, and the only way back out into the sunshine is to walk through the darkness first.

This is what the title of my blog has always been about. Us humans need both joy and pain, sun and rain; to grow and to live life fully.

We are going to be okay, even though we will always miss those 2 sweet and gentle little girls. In my life I have discovered that for every death there is almost always new life.

No sooner did we dry some tears and out came the sun along with some very warm weather, and now we have new life in the name of Spring. Although today we have a cooler and cloudy day, the evidence of sunny warm weather for the last while is showing up on my trees and bushes outside. Soon, I'll be smelling the delicious aroma from the flowers of lilacs, pear, plum and cherry trees.

In reality, we had a very dry spring as our snowfall this past winter was lighter than usual. We're in for drought conditions here this summer if we don't get some much needed precipitation, and at the threshold of May we have only had a few drops of rain which happened today. The warning is that the Canadian prairies could be in for a very hot and dry summer. That means stunted growth for plants and trees, hoards of grasshoppers (they are GROSS when they are at their peak quantities), and heat exhaustion sickness for this ol' hippie chick.

I'm thinking of doing naked rain dances on my front lawn.

My poor neighbours. They may not like it but hey if it saves their greenery....

Really, I do love living where there are 4 very distinct seasons and I can't really complain. I miss the winter when the insects start a'buzzing, but I miss something about every season once it's gone for another year. Right now I'm really looking forward to summer flowers and the colourful gardens.

Ah yes.... Life. It brings us some rain, for certain. But it also brings us a lot of sunshine. :-)

I do hope that you are all in for a sunny and warm weekend wherever you are. Take good care of each other, we're all that we have!

PEACE!
Love Jude

What a beautiful, uplifting and positive post Jude..words like yours are a boost to us all and an often-needed reminder that yes, the sun is always there ready to break through the darkest of clouds and fill our worlds with light again.

Like you, I also love the changing seasons and England is the perfect place to enjoy each of them without having to suffer the worst extremes of any of them. Today will be the hottest day of the year so far and it's already hot and sunny at 9am.

Have a lovely weekend and good luck with the naked dancing...use tambourines and tie bells to your ankles. The neighbours won't know what's hit them :)

Love them while they're here, miss them when they're gone, and know that your life is better and sweeter for having had whatever time you were blessed with. =)

The weather is changing here as well and the seasons are truly wonderful to see! It's raining here now so it's cooler than it has been the last couple of weeks. (yay!) Our lilacs and lilies and all assortments of flowers and flowering trees are in full bloom and I LOVE it!

Take care of you,
love you

Diane: Oooh tambourines and ankle bells, now THERE'S an idea! LOL

Yes, I'd say that you have less extreme seasons over in the U.K., plus your Spring comes earlier than up here in Alberta too. Soon we'll have flowers!

Trace: Yes our lives were full of joy for having the girls with us for so long. :-)

That's it, your lilacs are in full bloom so I'm winning a lottery this weekend and coming for a visit!! LOL

What an uplifting post, Jude. I can understand the loss you feel with losing your beloved companions. I still miss my Floyd cat as do the grandgirls.

For all the farmer's sakes, I sure hope you don't have a drought this summer.

Take care and hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I'm keeping my hopes up that we'll get some rain, a LOT actually, shortly. I really HATE it when I have to get nekkid on my front lawn.

Thank you Bobbie, I know you still miss your furry baby too. (((hugs))) And you have a good weekend as well!

Loss regardless if it's an animal or a person is hard to get used to. I don't believe we ever get over it, we just get used to it. I've experienced both the human and pet loss and while the feelings are slightly different, they both hurt very much.

Some things that help are focusing on the good times, the joy they brought you and reviewing videos and photos. One other thing that works is staying busy so you don't think about it.

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. It is true for every death there is new life. One human is dying and another is being born. Life is so short but such a great thing!

Spring yeah it's much better than winter but I don't like the pollen. We had serious storms and tornado watchs today. It's supposed to rain for several days here. I am not a big fan of that but into every life some rain must fall.

I'm sure the sun is shining in Canada and I hope your enjoying every moment of it!

God Bless.

Beautiful post, Sista. This Wednesday will be 3 years since my dad passed away, so I know how you are feeling with losing a loved one. And no matter if it's animal or human. They are all important and touch our lives in so many ways.

May God bless you, my dear friend, and I hope you get some rain up there soon! Wish I could send you some precip from down my way. We had too much snow over the Winter, and now lots of Spring rain so far this season.

Wow it's been 3 years already for you??!! I agree Sista J., loved ones are loved ones.

I wish the entire earth could get a little of both all at the same time, instead of some areas getting flooded and others nothing. Send some our way darling!

Love you xoxox
