HIPPIE CHICK IS 60!

I loved this saying! Ah yes, the truth of the matter! I don't have the energy I used to have, that is a fact. However I would have to think that most people my age don't have the zip they did when they were in their 20's, 30's or even 40's right?

Where I used to bound up the stairs now I just walk up. Where I used to literally skip DOWN the stairs now I sometimes have to go down like a toddler, 2 feet on each step. It's Mr. Arthur Itis in the knees, don't ya know. ;-)

Where my home was once, many years ago, described by a realtor as "immaculate", now I do the necessities (I have to have a clean bathroom and clean kitchen sink) and I only do battle with the dustbunnies in my house when I absolutely HAVE to.

Where I used to work all day (full time and sometimes 6 - 7 days a week) and still be energetic in the evenings, now I work part-time and due to being on my feet so much on the job my days off are limited to being on them only when I have to.

HOWEVER..... I'm still kickin' and I'm still a rocker chick who likes to rock to good music or chill out to some beautiful classical music. I do still hold down a job, even though I'm hoping to be able to afford to retire in the next few years. It may have to wait until I'm 65 but I hope not. ;-)

I would dearly love to enjoy mornings that never hear an alarm clock go off. And to fill a bit of my time doing some volunteer work just to keep busy. :-)
Knowing that even if I don't get much sleep I can solve that with an afternoon nap. Yes!

Funny thing is, I don't "feel" any different inside than when I was 20 or 30 or 40 or even 50. I absolutely love where I am (and who I am) spiritually, mentally and emotionally. It's just the physical part that has sabotaged me, LOL!

I know that a lot of women (and I guess men) have problems with each of the "big ones", turning each new decade of birthdays into something depressing or at the very least, wistful. I've never had any issues with each birthday, I haven't cared how old I am. But for some reason 60 feels different. After a lot of thought I think it's because the 60's are suddenly thought of as "senior" years. Which of course, they really are. Now I'm not so young anymore, but at the same time I don't feel "old" either.

Except for the body parts. Donations for body part replacements please? heh heh

There will be a family birthday party the weekend after this one. I'll have a great time and to hell with the number! I'm still rockin'! :-)

PEACE!
Love Jude

Happy, Happy Birthday, Jude!

At 60, you're a Spring chick compared to me. The government is "paying" me to get older this year.

Hope you have a great day, and enjoy your birthday celebrations.

Happy Belated Birthday! I wrote myself a note so I wouldn't forget and look at what happened. I feel awful.

I don't feel a whole lot different as I age. I notice somethings aren't as they used to be. Now if we could know what we do today and go back to say 25 and start all over again, man that would be fun.

Too bad there isn't a place where you can get replacement parts. My hubby could use some of those.

I hope that you get to acomplish your goal of being able to retire soon. You have certainly earned it!

Here's to another 60 years! Thanks for being a friend.

You are shure looking great! Where did all the years go? Hope you're feeling just as young as you did when you were in your 30's. I feel younger now than I did when I was in my 30's...of course I have to double moisturize these days...but it's all good!

May you always feel young! xoxoxo
