PRETTY QUIET

Hiya folks! It's been pretty quiet around here and not much to post or write home about. After a sweltering July so far August has been absolutely lovely. We've had temperatures that are either cooler (60's) or just in the low 70's with sun and some cloud. It's perfect for me!

Another couple of work weeks and then I'm on vacation at home for 3 whole weeks! I'm so looking forward to that. I plan on catching up on sleep, general rest, and doing some odds and ends projects around the house. AND hopefully getting out with my camera to a cemetery or two!

Already the days are getting noticably shorter and the nights a bit cooler. This is the time of year that holds promise for the beautiful autumn that is just around the corner. The big stores like WalMart are starting to become overrun with parents frantic to spend their hard earned money on back to school clothing and supplies for their school aged kids, too. In talking to a lot of parents, I'm of the belief that I couldn't afford to have kids these days!! When I was in school our parents only had to buy us a few new outfits to wear and some new shoes at the beginning of each new school year. The SCHOOLS supplied all of the necessary supplies! How times have changed.

Not to mention how "back then" families thrived on one income with one parent home raising the kids. Mortgages were paid off in 25 years, family vacations every summer and an average family was 4, not 2 kids. What has happened to our world since then? **sigh**

Things at work have settled down finally, as we have 2 new girls that are just nicely getting trained. So we aren't as short staffed now and I'm not having to work extra days all the damn time. I should have knocked on wood, just talking about that makes me think I've jinxed it!! LOL

I hope your week is going well and that you're staying cool where you are. Take good care of each other, and until next time.......

PEACE!

Love Jude
