OUTSIDE MY WINDOWS

Seems that my friend Xavier really enjoyed a picture I posted of my new living room window, as he loves the tall trees outside. Well we live in a neighbourhood that is almost 40 years old now, so the foliage around us is very mature and lovely. Not only to look at either ~~ we constantly have the sound of the breeze through the leaves and a large population of birds, giving us sweet birdsong. I love listening to those 2 things. So this one's for you, dear man! Just try to look past the ladders, scaffolds, and things hanging from the roof out there, and see just the trees that we see from our windows......

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThis is taken from one of my bedroom windows. You can't actually tell, but the size of the trunk on this Blue Spruce outside the window is HUGE, at least twice the size it appears to be in this picture. This tree is much, much higher than our house, and as it is just a couple of feet away from our window I often hear birds and squirrels chattering in it.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comFrom the same window and looking to the left is one of our neighbour's big Mountain Ash trees....they have the bright orange berries on them but it's hard to see that in this picture. His second one is hidden in this picture by our Blue Spruce.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThis is another shot of the Blue Spruce, this one taken from our living room window, obviously on the same side of the house.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comLooking the other direction out the living room window, this is the view of across the street. My pride and joy, my baby Russian Olive tree, is on the left, right in front of the window. Hopefully in another couple of years or so it will be full grown and fill up the view in this window. This happens to be my favourite tree of all.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comAt the back of the house, out of our kitchen window. You cannot tell by this, but the neighbour behind us across the back alley has a HUMONGOUS tree.... seen in the left of this picture, and the tree on the right is in our backyard up against our garage. (you can see the garage roof on the right) The tree in the middle is our pine tree in the backyard, right up against the fence and the back alley. TONS of birds are in the back alley of our neighbourhood and they "walk me to work" as I trek down the alley on my way to the office. I thank God every day for that. All of our gorgeous sunsets happen just to the left of this picture too, so I always watch them from our kitchen window.

You can only get a good idea of the mature foliage in our neighbourhood by being out in it, perhaps going for a nice walk around us ~~ these pictures simply can't take it all in and you're only seeing a fraction of it. Anyway sometimes I think we're nuts for doing all this renovation and not just selling the house and moving. But, we both love this area and it's beauty so it's worth it for us.

On another note, we just got word that brother-in-law and his 2 strapping sons are all free again in 10 days time to help hubby shingle our roof! So the weekend after this coming one, our roof will be finally gotten to!! It's been raining here all week so poor hubby hasn't been able to get up there and do preparations for it. He's really behind with it, so this is a blessing. And it's supposed to stop raining after today. Please God help the weatherman keep his promise about that??

Oh, and in honour of my gay male friends....... here's a cute little funny from my friend Terri ~~ thanks Terri! She sent me quite a few, and I'll be posting them off and on here.

Off to get my laundry going peeps, so have a great Thursday and I'll catch up with you later! Take care of each other and PEACE be yours......

Love Jude
