THE HIPPIE CHICK'S MEME !

When I started my Def Leppard concert in Edmonton Countdown clock (in my sidebar) it was set at 105 days. Now it's already at 43!! Holy crap that's a long time that I've been waiting so far.....and now it's just over a month and I'll be giggly with joy just seeing and listening to this great band do their thing ~ which is play terrific tunes! WooHoo! Having said that......crap I still gotta wait awhile.....LOL Thank God for all the other Leppy fans from the States who have been going to their concerts there and posting pics and reviews. What can I say? I've been living life vicariously through all of them. I know that some of you who read my blog and aren't Def Leppard fans may get tired of hearing about this band, and that's ok..... but you have to understand that not only do I love this band with all my heart and soul, they also stand for something in my life. I got through a horrific couple of years 10 years ago listening to their music, when it was about the only stuff I could listen to that didn't hurt. This band's own story of ups and downs, deaths, accidents etc. did it for me ~ they are all best of mates still after going on 30 yrs. of doing what they do, and to me they stand for perseverance, tenacity and strength. I knew if they could do it, so could I. That may sound silly, but when you are in such a dark place that you just want to die, you hang on tight to what works for you, and this band did it for me in a lot of ways. Not to mention friends, family, and my faith. Okay......geez that all sounds so profound, which it is, but enough of that, let's move on!

I have been very busy adding some terrific new blog links to my sidebar this weekend. The first one is a lovely lady named Victoria whose blog is all about Life Is Good, and I visit her blog daily, as I do all of the links on my sidebar. Welcome Vickie! (It was through my friend Xavier that I found this lady, so thanks bunches, Xavier my man!)

Now these next two are absolutely hilarious!!! This is a couple who just went to the hospital and came home with 2 more people in their family ~ TWINS! Needless to say, I'm sure they are both exhausted, yet you will find when you read their blogs that they have not given up their sense of humour. These are a very, very funny read ~ if you don't go there I'll have to beat on you! They are Jay (tired new dad) and his wife, Yasmine (tired new mom). It was through my buddy Debs that I found these two. Thanks Debbers!! All 3 of these blogs are well worth the read and like I said, I go to all of my bloglinks on a daily basis. Enjoy!!

Okay I said this post entry was a "meme theme" so here it is....compliments of Cristie! (thanks!)

What Was I Doing 10 Years Ago?: Unfortunately, trying to cope with becoming newly widowed.

What Was I Doing 5 Years Ago?: Laughing at everyone who thought the world was supposed to come to an end.

What Was I Doing 1 Year Ago?: Not suspecting I was about to become an avid blogger!

What Was I Doing Yesterday?: House cleaning and laundry!

5 Snacks I Enjoy: cheddar cheese and crackers, popcorn, chocolate covered raisins, watermelon, potato chips.

5 Songs I Know All The Words To: Most Def Leppard songs, lots of Christmas carols, oh crap this is too broad a question!!

5 Things I'd Do With $100 Million: Give a whole whack of it to all my family members, travel to the U.K. and NYC after I take a train from west to east coast (Canada), give to my favourite charities, quit work, do some volunteer work. Oh, and did I mention shopping???? :)

5 Locations I'd Love To Run Away To: England, NYC, Maui, Canada's east coast, Canada's west coast.

5 Bad Habits I Have: Smoking, not eating enought fruits and veggies, cussin', laziness, worry too much.

5 Things I Like Doing: Being with friends/family, napping, blogging, reading, watching movies.

5 Things I'd Never Wear: Well this has changed since I got pleasantly plump. Now, I'd never wear mini skirts, belly baring clothing, spiked heels, anything bra-less, short-shorts. ALL THE THINGS I USED TO WEAR!! :(

5 TV Shows I Like: Have to be general here as I don't watch as much TV as I used to.... some home renovating shows, some cooking shows, Most Haunted, and some TV movies.

5 Favourite Toys: Computer, DVD player, TV, digital camera, um.... my shredder???

5 Biggest Joys Of The Moment: My faith, my family, my friends, the people I work with, Def Leppard.

There ya have it, and thanks again to Cristie for this one! Geez who'da thunk these things could be so hard to do!! LOL I would like to challenge my readers to do this one, or a similar one. I'd love to read yours and I'll be watching for any of them, ok?? (complete with wagging tail of anticipation.... LOL)

Today I'm doing the usual Sunday grocery run with sister Pammie, and we'll stop somewhere for a bite of brunch first, as always. For us smokers, eating out just got less comfortable a week ago when this city went to a Non-Smoking Bylaw, in any public place. It's been that way for a long time now, but they just included bars, lounges and bingo halls. So us smokers would go to lounges when we went out for a bite. Now, when Pam and I go, we eat and run, as any of you who are/were smokers you know that after a meal a ciggie craving is at it's worst. One day I hope to kick this habit. Enough said. So it'll be a busy day and thankfully it's only going to be in the lower 70's today ~~ however that's about to change as it gets to hight 80's in a couple of days. UGH! Heatstroke here we come.... BLEH!

I'm off and running peeps, so I'll wish you all an excellent week and we'll catch up again soon. Take care of each other, and PEACE be yours!

Love Jude
