PLUMBERS, PAINTERS, PIZZA AND PRAYERS

Are you ready for this?? The roof shingling is DONE! Well okay, except for the tiny little porch roof over the front door. Good job hubby! Now hurry the hell up and get the electrician in here, and then the painter, so I can have my **##@@ house back! Thanks honey. You wouldn't want to foot the bill for the psychiatry center now, would ya?

Is it really LEGAL for electricians to charge $54 an hour???? And this guy is cheaper than some others hubby has called! I'm not looking forward to when we have to get a plumber and a painter in too! Man are we in the wrong biz or what.

A LOT of prayers are being said in my household. I'm kneeling to pray beside billions of other people for those unfortunates in the wake of Katrina. And I've also added to my list a few other blogger friends. Rhonda Elizabeth's mom, who is having surgery, and Lisa's father-in-law, who is battling ill health and not doing very well again. Also, Lisa (the Sidekick) who is bravely facing surgery of her own here very soon. Karen, who has been putting up the good fight with breast cancer, and is just about done with it, after recent reconstruction surgery. Hang in there sweetie!! And of course, my friend Lors, who had surgery a month ago and has been going through some terrifying times during her recovery. And for Mona, because I don't know where she is or what happened to her.... she was supposed to be back from holidays almost a month ago now. (could be I'm just paranoid these days) My prayers and heartfelt good wishes continue to go out for these people who have become my good online friends. They are all in my sidebar links, if anyone wishes to extend hugs to them. My silly home renovation woes are just that, silly ~~ compared to what so many others are facing. I love you guys, I just like to vent and share my stories, ya know? I honestly do count my blessings on a daily basis!

Another funny for you, this time again from my friend Tina. Thanks girlfriend!

IF MY BODY WAS A CAR

If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull, but that's not the worst of it.

My fenders are too wide to be considered stylish. They were once as sleek as a little MG; now they look more like my old Buick.

My seat cushions have split open at the seams. My seats are sagging.

Seat belts? I gave up all belts when Krispy Cremes opened up a shop in
my neighborhood!

Air bag's? Forget it. The only bags I have these days are under my eyes. Not counting the saddlebags, of course.

I have soooooo many miles on my odometer. Sure, I've been many places and seen many things, but when's the last time an appraiser factored life experiences against depreciation?

My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.

But here's the worst of it -almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter..... either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!!!

As I'm typing this I am munching on my leftover pizza from last night. Pizza 73, double mushroom with pepperoni. Yummers. Oh and a tall glass of half skim moo and half soymilk. But I better get my ass (and the rest of me if I wanna see where I'm going, lol) back down to the Terror Twins of the Laundry Room. A woman's woik is nevah done! Even when she's on holidays. **winky wink** Have a great weekend everyone, please take good care of each other, and here's wishing for PEACE for you all.......

Love Jude
