EDMONTON IN AUTUMN

You probably already read it here, autumn is my favourite season, with all the beauty in the colours, and the crisp, fresh air. I was surfing around and spotted tons and tons of pictures of our fair city, many of them taken at this gloriously beautiful time of year. And I thought....."why not share them, Jude?"

DOWNTOWN CITY VIEW
The North Saskatchewan River slowly snakes it way through our city, with several bridges connecting the North and South sides of Edmonton. I live on the North side of the river (the downtown side), in the West End suburbs. Our house is just a few blocks from the world famous West Edmonton Mall, the largest indoor mall in the world.

EDMONTON'S COLOURS BEGINNING TO TURN
Of Canada's cities, Edmonton has the most parks, and there are miles and miles of bike trails and parkland along the river valley. A glorious way to spend a day is to pack a picnic lunch and head out to one of the parks to throw a frisbee, or just sit and enjoy nature and fresh air.

ONE OF THE PARKS WEARING HER FALL SPLENDOUR
Many of the parks have picnic tables and firepits for our eating pleasure. There are ponds where in warm months you can feed the ducks and birds, and in winter you can go skating on them. And others have landscape to stroll in for hours, or lay on a blanket and watch the cloud formations in the serenity of a quiet afternoon.

THE END OF AN AFTERNOON IN THE SURROUNDING AREA
After a relaxing day, one can sit back and enjoy the colours of the setting sun, and breathe in the cooling air. There are a few beautiful parks just outside Edmonton as well.

GOODNIGHT FROM EDMONTON.....
Now the only thing left would be to hope for a sky filled with the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) and watch the dancing colours above us. The end to a perfect day.

Oh, and looky, looky what I got today.

MY AUTUMN COLOURED PHONE

EVEN HAS A SEXY RED POUCH

It's racey and red, oh yeah baby. Just like me, it's one red-hot mamma. Hot tamale.
It's my first cell phone, and I had to do it up good. Not bad, hmm?

Sister Pammie and I decided it was about time we were able to get hold of each other more easily, as she picks me up from work on her way home each day. Sometimes one of us is running a bit late at the office and we can't often reach each other after hours so this was a good solution. We got a 'family plan' so to speak, where our calls to each other are always free. (she's always had a cell phone but I haven't) Hubby has one, but he and I don't have to reach each other as much when I'm not home.

Now all I need are some rockin' Leppy tunes for my ring tone. Free, of course. And maybe a sexy Leppy (Sav?) wallpaper for it.

The painters were here today, and they finished! I took pictures too, wanna see??

Next post I'll have them up! For now, I have the BIGGEST mess to clean up you've ever seen in a house. But it's late and I'm absolutely pooped, so tomorrow is another day for that. Tomorrow hubby is working, and there are no strange men coming to my house to tear down, rip up, make a mess or keep me from lounging in my jammies all day. AND......this means......I GET TO HAVE A NAP. Yesssss!!!

So, goodnight to all of you from me in Edmonton, the sun has set and it's dark now. No aurora borealis though......maybe when it's colder. I'm off to have the best sleep I've had in weeks, I hope. See you in my dreams!

PEACE TO YOU
Love Jude
