LAST OF THE FLOWERS

As summer slowly faded away, so did her bounty of colourful flowers. I have had a couple of bushes of the most striking red and yellow flowers on one side of my front step now for a few years. I can't remember what they are called, but I love them.

ALL THAT'S LEFT, ONE OF TWO BUSHES

And on the other side of my front step, hubby always plants annuals, including another favourite of mine, pansies. I didn't think they were supposed to keep coming back.

ONE VERY LONELY FLOWER

Keep in mind that this year, our lawns and few flower beds got NO attention and no planting. Even worse, they got dug up a bit in spots when the new sidewalk went in, and trampled on shamelessly when the new windows were being put in right above the flower beds. So, where there used to be flowers, is now only dirt. But these 2 beautiful bushes survived, the hearty things. They must be Canadian, LOL. And one lonely pansy. Looks like it's saying, "I'll be back next year if you'll just look after me next time." Well little flower, hopefully NEXT summer we'll actually be tending to our yard, instead of destroying it. Hang in there!

Here's a funny to leave you with:

A Texas rancher and his wife were bickering while vacationing in France. They were still hardly speaking to each other after being seated in a fancy French restaurant for dinner.

When the waiter arrived the rancher said: "I'll have a big, thick porterhouse steak." The waiter replied: "Monsieur ... what about ze mad cow?" To which the rancher replied, "She'll have a salad."

Thanks to my friend Tina, or "Mother Earth", who I call Mamma E.

Nighty-night folks, have a great Hump Day tomorrow and be good to each other.

PEACE

Love Jude
