"SELF PORTRAIT" PHOTO CONTEST!

Okay folks, this theme was a tough one as a lot of us ladies don't necessarily like having our photos taken. So....... we had to think outside the box and we did. We hope you enjoy our own takes on this topic!

If you'd like to participate in the voting please go on over to Stardom Awaits! and cast your vote. The voting will be open for approximately 2 weeks and then the winner(s) will be announced.

Enjoy the photography, and good luck to our entrants!

PEACE!

HAPPY FAMILY DAY!

Sorry folks, it's been awhile since I've posted anything other than the photo contests! It's been busy, being short staffed at work I've been working some extra days (not to mention longer shifts) and I find when I get home I just want to collapse in front of the TV before bed. So I haven't been online quite as much, and other than checking on a few of my bloglinks every few days I haven't blogged myself.

No I haven't stopped blogging though! :-)

To my Canadian friends I wish you a Happy Family Day long weekend, and I might be wrong but I believe it is also President's Day in the U.S. and a holiday? To any of you who have the day off, enjoy!

February hasn't been all that bad here, we even had some spring-like temperatures for quite awhile and lots of snow melting. (although with all that snow we got in January we still have tons of it!) This past week or so Old Man Winter decided to give us one last gasp and the temps got colder, but by next weekend it will warm up again. Just in time for March! :-)

Spring is almost here!

Not much for news here unfortunately, but I guess that *could* be a good thing too huh? Take good care of each other, and until next time.......

PEACE!

"FOOD" CONTEST WINNERS

It was a tie! And quite the run for the money cream-pie-in-the-face! Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all who participated in the voting. You make this fun possible for us. :-)

Next contest at the end of this month: "Self Portrait". Aren't you curious? LOL!

Peace!

BIRTHDAY SHENANIGANS

It's been a busy week and I'm exhausted, but I'm looking forward to some good ol' family fun tonight.

My sister Brenda just had a birthday and tonight we're heading out there for some dinner and cake. Sister Pam is making coleslaw with her most delicious slaw dressing, and Brenda's hubby is making the potatoes.

And this is my chicken breasts in mushroom sauce, bubbling away in my crock pot. It smells so good! Each time we have a birthday, it is tradition that the birthday person gets to pick the meal they want and the cake they like. This is what Brenda asked for.

.......and this is the cake she asked for. Well okay it's the "flavours" she asked for, vanilla cake with cream cheese icing. I decorated it this way, so this part is all my fault!

I remembered that awhile back I had bought some food colouring that was called "Neon", having neon colours. I already have a nice assorted stash of birthday candles, and these were almost the same colours as the icing so I decided to split the icing into quarters as you see here. Not a professional cake decorator by any means, but I think they'll get a kick out of it because it's different than usual.

So in a few more hours we'll be packing up the food and cake to load in the truck, and off we'll go to have a fun evening!

Nothing much for news at my end to report, doing some extra shifts at work while we train a couple of new people. The older I get, the less it takes to exhaust me completely. I hope you are all doing well, and having a good weekend!

PEACE!
