PRAYERS FOR OUR SOUTHERN NEIGHBOURS

It's all that anyone can talk about, the devastation of Katrina. I have been praying for the safety of my neighbours to the south who are being hit with this...... it doesn't feel like enough though. For anyone in her path, please stay safe! It would be horribly difficult to let go of material things that mean so much to us, but a human life is worth so much more.....

Please take care of yourselves, and of each other!

THE HIPPIE CHICK WILTS

If I were a Sunflower, I'd be wilted beyond recognition, it's that friggin' hot out. And hotter yet tomorrow. However the good news is, it isn't raining this weekend! Thanks to all of you for your non-rain dances and prayers!

Hubby and his helpers started the roof this morning, and they'll be back out to help him again tomorrow. (Sunday) Don't know if they'll finish it but hopefully there will be only a small amount left that hubby can finish on his own when the others all go back to work Monday. And it's not supposed to rain again until Tuesday.....knock on wood. I feel SO SORRY for the guys roasting up there in the hot sun, yech!

Here's a funny for ya, thanks Tina!

Jacob, age 92, and Rebecca, age 89, living in Florida, are all excited
about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the
wedding, and on the way they pass a drugstore. Jacob suggests they go in.

Jacob addresses the man behind the counter: "Are you the owner?"

The pharmacist answers, "Yes."

Jacob: "We're about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?"

Pharmacist: "Of course we do."

Jacob: "How about medicine for circulation?"

Pharmacist: "All kinds."

Jacob: "Medicine for rheumatism and scoliosis?"

Pharmacist: "Definitely."

Jacob: "How about Viagra?"

Pharmacist: "Of course."

Jacob: "Medicine for memory problems, arthritis, jaundice?"

Pharmacist: "Yes, a large variety. The works."

Jacob: "What about vitamins, sleeping pills, Geritol, antidotes
for Parkinson's disease?"

Pharmacist: "Absolutely."

Jacob: "You sell wheelchairs and walkers?"

Pharmacist: "All speeds and sizes."

Jacob: "We'd like to use this store as our Bridal Registry."

Got to run, but I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to say hello, I've not had much opportunity to be on the computer this weekend. Take care everyone, and I'll catch ya soon! PEACE!!

I CAN SPEAK! I CAN SPEAK!

Today I have my voice back ~ it's pretty much all there again, after having nothing but a squeak coming out of me yesterday. But it was all in the name of good fun and great music! I'm STILL in LeppyHeaven and haven't come down yet.....although I know any time now I'll start to go through the "coming down" part and it will be sad. Who knows when they'll be back again on tour?? I think in the last while it's been an average of about 2 - 3 years or so. Sheeit, I'll be gettin' OLD by then!! At any rate, I wish like hell I was seeing them in more than the usual one concert this time, I think probably because I'm so jealous of Patty and Rhonda and wish I was going with them to all 4!! So today I mentioned to sister Pammie (my standing "date" for Leppy concerts) that perhaps we could find a way next time to do MORE than one, and have a little LeppTrek of our own ~ maybe meet up with some people too. **grins** She thought it was a great idea.....but the only thing that holds us back from that is M.O.N.E.Y. .....not to mention time off work. Oh and her doggies......can't take them with us. Oh hell it doesn't sound like it's getting any better does it? Okay time to change the subject before major depression hits.

So!! The saga of house renovations continues. Hubby got all the shingles off the roof a few weeks ago, in anticipation of getting new ones on......and then after an entire summer of hardly any rain, we got it all, and dumps of it too, AFTER the shingles were all off the roof! It's been covered with a tarp the whole time and we've had some leaks, dammit. We've even got a nice water stain in our bedroom ceiling around a light fixture. Nice. Today it's sunny out ~ yay! And he got up there and took the tarp off to let the attic dry out, and is going to put insulation in. This weekend the shingling is supposed to happen, that's when our "help" is coming (brother in law and his 2 grown sons).......and it's supposed to RAIN again Saturday and Sunday. Pray for us, will you please????

We're not completely satisfied with our new windows, as there are a few issues we're finding as we live with them. I hope they get their arses out here to fix the problems. (I'm not happy with this company) I'm feeling sorry for Lex (fellow blogger on my sidebar links) as she's getting hers all done in the next few days. Chin up Lex, hopefully it'll be painless and go well for you!

I'm off to Walmart with sister Pammie when she gets home from work. She broke a shoe and needs to go buy new ones. She bribed me into going by saying, "Lets stop at Extreme Pita for dinner, okay?" Well, how can I resist THAT?? They have awesome pitas! Anyway down to finish the laundry, and then do something with myself so I can go out into public. Hmmmm this might be a great chance to wear my new Def Leppard ball cap! Stick the old bed hair up inside and who would be the wiser??

Have a great Friday everyone, and PEACE be yours!!

WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY, JUDE??

WHO KNOWS WHAT THE HELL I'M SAYING.......I HAVE NO VOICE!!!!!

Yep, a good time was indeedydoody had by all! Okay, first off, let me answer all your comments you left on my blog last night ~ some of which were begging .... no, demanding (lol) "details"!

Vickytoria darling, I'm so sorry I missed you yesterday, I was off work at 3:00 and didn't see you anywhere to say HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY! So I'm saying it now, and yes please do visit me here at least so we can keep connected. I'm really going to miss you!!

To all you Leppy fans awaiting news of the Edmonton show ~~~~~~

HOLY CRAP, IT ROCKED SO GOOD!!!!

Last night was by far the BEST Leppy concert I've had the absolute pleasure of being a part of.....I don't know what their secret is, but these 5 guys look better than they have in years ~ rumour about their having a personal trainer to get keep them in great shape ~ anybody know anything about this?? Well let me tell you, Joe hasn't looked this good in years, he is slim and gorgeous and ladies he seriously is sexy stuff!

Phil....well Phil is always in great shape as we all know, and last night he set the ladies to screeching more than once with his guitar solos a la Phil. Viv was looking really good in his new haircut, it really suits him, although my favourite Viv look is still his really long hair. But then, just like my friend (and boss) Renata said as she gyrated to the tunes beside me last night..."I've always been a sucker for men in long hair!" Viv and Phil did major justice to the band's music last night, they had fists pumping and fans screaming for more, more, MORE!

Rick Allen was his usual smiling and wonderful self, and not because this is my favourite band, honestly this man is in my opinion the best drummer in the world. He has major talent and although it's old news, after losing an appendage in 1984 and becoming a one-armed ThunderGod, his craft has gotten even better. This man ROCKS!!

Okay ladies.....SAV. OMFG!! I have been seeing all the pictures so many of you have posted of Sav wearing his "whites" over the past while, but I have to tell you that when I rested my eyes on him in his whites IN PERSON, I about fell right out of the nosebleed seats and onto the floor!! Wow, that man is GORGEOUS enough to eat!! He was struttin' his white-clad beautiful self to all sides of the stage, stopping to pose for camera shots and making some fortunate fans extremely happy to have the opportunity for such great memories recorded for posterity! Crap he's beautiful!! Oh and at one point near the end of their show, when they were "saying goodbye" but before we roared them back out for the encores, someone threw their brand new Leppy ROA t-shirt at Sav. It was so cute, he opened it up, laid it against his body and then gestured with shrugs that "but I AM in the band, thank you but one of YOU should have this", and he threw it to a fan that didn't have one. It was so cute the way he did it, LOL!

The entire band were animated and moving around the stage continuously, never letting up for even a moment. How long have they been on this tour now? HAH!! You'd have thought it was their first gig, they were so ALIVE! Joe's voice was in surprisingly great shape for being this far into the tour, which was a thrill for us! By this time it's often scratchy and shredded, NOT that it takes away from the greatness of the man!

The Edmonton crowd..........we did not disappoint the Lepps!! They brought the house down and we never ever let up! There were times the band just shook their heads and gave us a clap, because the roar from us fans just didn't stop. They gave it to us good, so we gave it right back to them really good. The energy and excitement in that huge venue last night was keenly high voltage, and I was almost in tears more than once just from the emotion of it all.

THIS BAND ROCKED OUR SOCKS OFF!! Please don't even ask me what the line-up was, I cannot tell you, other than I sang every word and damn near put my knee out from dancing. The song "Rock On"??? I looked so forward to that, and I was not disappointed ~~ it was the highlight for me, I think. That and a couple of their own "air punching" songs that I love to rock to ....oh man I can't believe I managed to even get to sleep this morning.

Okay to change bands for just a moment ~ if anybody out there wants a very, very pleasant suprise if you don't know Tea Party, and if you liked Jim Morrison's sound from The Doors....... you will LOVE Tea Party! This band opened for our Lepps last night, and really they could be the headliner themselves. I knew I liked their songs but had no idea what kind of live on stage band they were going to be. Holy crap they are GREAT!! Myself and the ladies I went with were looking at each other during their show saying, "I think I'm going out to buy their latest CD!!" After the shows were over and thousands were filing out of the venue, there were people at the doors handing out little cards for getting Tea Party's latest CD at a discounted price. I can't find mine now though, dammit!! No matter, I'm still going to purchase it, I love these guys! Holy crap their lead singer is S-E-X-Y!!! And honest to God he really sounds a lot like Jim Morrison, only better, if that makes sense! This band has been around for 15 years now and their popularity was very evident with the fans they had there last night. PLEASE check out their sound on their website,
HERE.

There was a really sad downside to last night for me though......and that was the fact that I never got to meet my online buddies Patty and Rhonda. They were going to come up to our seats before the show and although I waited there for them, they never got there. I haven't heard anything yet from them, but I kept worrying that something may have happened and they didn't make it to the venue. (I hope all is well with you guys and that you're okay!!!) Needless to say I was terribly disappointed that I didn't see them, and worried. They're on a Canadian Lepp Trek, hitting Edmonton last night, Calgary tonight, and then on to Kelowna and Vancouver in B.C. If you're reading this ladies, please contact me and let me know you're okay!!

I stood in a huge line up (one of many) and got myself a coveted Leppy tshirt, I chose the Rock Of Ages with the Union Jack circle like the front of the ROA CD on the front, and the Tour Destinations on the back, including our Edmonton's date! WooHoo! AND... I treated myself and bought a Def Leppard black ball cap too!

We got home around midnight I think. I went with my sister Pammie, who is my standing Leppy date when they come to town (she was very ill and almost didn't come!!) and sister Brenda, a first time Lepp concert for her although she likes the band, and she wasn't disappointed ~ and my friend who also happens to be my boss, Renata. Renata has been to Leppy concerts waaaay back in the early 80's up to early 90's, but hasn't been for a long time. Her and I danced and screeched our lungs out all night and used my little binoculars to ogle both Sav and Tea Party's lead singer and guitarist, Jeff Martin. (YUMMY!!)

I have no idea if I've left anything out, I'm still so wired and doing the "LeppFloat" (I'm still floating around up there somewhere on Cloud Lepp) and no, I have NO VOICE, and my hearing is.....well not as bad as last night, my ears are still ringing pretty good. WHAT A SHOW! WHAT A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

I LOVE DEF LEPPARD WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!!!

Oh, and one other little tidbit here, and this is for my friend Karen (KCfla)..... Karen sweetie, you asked me to give Joe a kiss for you darlin'....and unfortunately I was nowhere near the band, however ~~ at the very end, after they'd already come back out for their encores and they were each going to all sides of the stage waving goodbye to us, when Joe came to our side and looked right up in the nosebleeds where we were and blew us a kiss, I blew him one right back, straight from my heart, and yelled, "This is from Karen for you, Joe!!" So I did the best I could sweetie, and I really meant it! Wish you could have been there with me.

I wish you all could have been there with me, you'd have (obviously) loved our band, but you would also have fallen in love I think with Tea Party. What a great double header for us ~ the place rocked in a HUGE WAY.

What a memorable night...... now I just need to know what happened to Patty and Rhonda, and know that they're okay....
**UPDATE** Okay I told ya if I thought of anything else I'd blog it, LOL Firstly I forgot to say Joe at one point talked about this being the bands' 25th. year (hmmm it's longer than that, he must mean with most of the line-up they have today), and then he said these words, which he's talked about before in concert up here; "Canada is our biggest market, and in fact always has been!" This of course made us yellers and screamers in the crowd get even LOUDER, LOL Secondly and most importantly, Patty and Rhonda made it to this show and are allright, thank God! Somehow the section, row and seat numbers got confused somewhere and they ended up looking for us in another section. I could just cry for missing them!! But I'm glad they're okay and were there to rock with us! :)

I'm stuck for more words peeps, and if I've left anything out and think of it later I'll post it. For now, I'm having my morning coffee with Caramel Vanilla creamer and just re-live last night in my head. I've still got the hugest smile on my face.....

Until later, PEACE to you all, take care of each other, and ROCK ON!!

THE MOVE IS DONE!

Hi peeps! Getting a morning post in here before I'm off doing groceries etc. on my usual Sunday run-around-do-the-errands thingy.

We got the new office all unpacked yesterday....well sort of anyway. Toward the end when everyone was gone home but a couple of us, I was helping my boss unpack her office. Once we got the last boxes emptied she wanted us to just get stuff put somewhere, anywhere and she'd sort through it all later, so we could just go home. So I left there just after 6 p.m. after pretty much going at it for 8 hours. I even worked through our lunch break while I ate (they fed us yummy Quizno's subs) just so I could get done what I had to do. By the time I got home, I was so exhausted I was light-headed and actually not feeling well at all. So regardless, tomorrow a.m. bright and early, we are open for business, whether we know where everything is or not!!

Here's a little something my friend Ruth sent me, and it's great stuff to share...

AN OLD FARMER'S ADVICE:

. Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.

. Keep skunks and bankers and lawyers at a distance.

. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

. Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't botherin' you none.

. Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

. If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.

. Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

. The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'.

. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Cool stuff to live by don'tcha think? Thanks Ruth!

I have added a new link to my sidebar.....this guy is FUNNY. I "met" Orion through my good blogging friend Tracey and I've been loving his style ever since. Okay okay...not to get overly mushy or I'll just embarass the guy. He wants everyone to know how tough he is afterall. **wink wink** Truly, he's a firefighter and does stuff like, I don't know....probably jumps out of airplanes and bungee jumping. All while holding a savage looking gutting knife in his teeth. Anyway don't tell him I said so but he's a sweetheart, go ahead and check him out, it's great reading and you won't regret it! Click HERE for some chuckles.

AND.......check out my countdown to Lepps concert ~~ ONLY 2 MORE DAYS, and this old Hippie Rocker Chick is going to be groovin', gettin' down and gettin' right back up again!! (well hopefully I can, with these knees....)

Okay I'm off and running! Have an excellent weekend everyone, and please take good care of each other. Until next time PEACE to you!

THE MOVE BEGINS!

I have to be at work for 5:30 today, the time our office normally closes. They are going to feed us, and then we finish off packing everything in the building that we could not pack yet as they are used daily. Don't know how long we'll be there tonight, but as long as it takes because the movers are showing up bright and early tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow morning (Saturday), we show up at the new premises for 10 a.m. and they feed us a little breakfast snack, and then we start the unpacking process. Again, don't know how long we'll be there, but as long as it takes to get every single little piece of paper put away where it needs to be, and all the equipment up and running, so that we are open for business as usual on Monday morning!

Having said that, I'm not going to be around much this weekend, but when I am home, before bed and when I get up I'll likely spend at least a half hour at my computer either getting sleepy or waking up, lol. So at that time I'll try to pop in. I aplogize ahead of time if I miss some posts on some of your blogs ~ just wait until my holidays at home start September 1st........then you won't get rid of me! Bua ha ha ha!! So I'll leave you with a couple more funnies that Terri sent to me. Enjoy!

OUTSIDE MY WINDOWS

Seems that my friend Xavier really enjoyed a picture I posted of my new living room window, as he loves the tall trees outside. Well we live in a neighbourhood that is almost 40 years old now, so the foliage around us is very mature and lovely. Not only to look at either ~~ we constantly have the sound of the breeze through the leaves and a large population of birds, giving us sweet birdsong. I love listening to those 2 things. So this one's for you, dear man! Just try to look past the ladders, scaffolds, and things hanging from the roof out there, and see just the trees that we see from our windows......

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThis is taken from one of my bedroom windows. You can't actually tell, but the size of the trunk on this Blue Spruce outside the window is HUGE, at least twice the size it appears to be in this picture. This tree is much, much higher than our house, and as it is just a couple of feet away from our window I often hear birds and squirrels chattering in it.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comFrom the same window and looking to the left is one of our neighbour's big Mountain Ash trees....they have the bright orange berries on them but it's hard to see that in this picture. His second one is hidden in this picture by our Blue Spruce.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThis is another shot of the Blue Spruce, this one taken from our living room window, obviously on the same side of the house.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comLooking the other direction out the living room window, this is the view of across the street. My pride and joy, my baby Russian Olive tree, is on the left, right in front of the window. Hopefully in another couple of years or so it will be full grown and fill up the view in this window. This happens to be my favourite tree of all.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comAt the back of the house, out of our kitchen window. You cannot tell by this, but the neighbour behind us across the back alley has a HUMONGOUS tree.... seen in the left of this picture, and the tree on the right is in our backyard up against our garage. (you can see the garage roof on the right) The tree in the middle is our pine tree in the backyard, right up against the fence and the back alley. TONS of birds are in the back alley of our neighbourhood and they "walk me to work" as I trek down the alley on my way to the office. I thank God every day for that. All of our gorgeous sunsets happen just to the left of this picture too, so I always watch them from our kitchen window.

You can only get a good idea of the mature foliage in our neighbourhood by being out in it, perhaps going for a nice walk around us ~~ these pictures simply can't take it all in and you're only seeing a fraction of it. Anyway sometimes I think we're nuts for doing all this renovation and not just selling the house and moving. But, we both love this area and it's beauty so it's worth it for us.

On another note, we just got word that brother-in-law and his 2 strapping sons are all free again in 10 days time to help hubby shingle our roof! So the weekend after this coming one, our roof will be finally gotten to!! It's been raining here all week so poor hubby hasn't been able to get up there and do preparations for it. He's really behind with it, so this is a blessing. And it's supposed to stop raining after today. Please God help the weatherman keep his promise about that??

Oh, and in honour of my gay male friends....... here's a cute little funny from my friend Terri ~~ thanks Terri! She sent me quite a few, and I'll be posting them off and on here.

Off to get my laundry going peeps, so have a great Thursday and I'll catch up with you later! Take care of each other and PEACE be yours......

GETTING READY TO HOWL!!

98 days ago I put up a countdown clock in my sidebar; it was 105 days until Def Leppard came to town and I had a date with them! (well okay, me and many other fans) As of today........

I ONLY HAVE TO WAIT ONE MORE WEEK!

Next Tuesday night at this time I'll be hanging at Rexall place here in Edmonton, and meeting up with two blogging friends who are attending the concert from out of town ~~ Patty from Calgary, and Rhonda from "the deep south" USA! Can't wait to meet you 2 ladies ~ and can't wait to rock with our Lepps!

Have an excellent Hump Day tomorrow everyone ~ PEACE!

Well my friend GayStud (man I wish you'd change this online handle of yours, LOL!!) is on a roll, I love this man's sense of humour, and he's done it again. Thanks buddy, I love this one!

Subject: scam against women ~~ This new scam is being pulled mainly on attractive middle-aged women who are past the age of giving a running pursuit. What happens is that when the intended victim stops for a red light, an almost nude, good looking, tanned, muscled young man comes up to her car and pretends to wash the windshield. While he is doing this, another young, handsome, athletic man opens the back door of the car, takes anything valuable and, if traffic is not heavy, he may insist the woman drive off with him to some deserted spot, where he passionately has his way with her. They are very good at this. They got me seven times Friday and five times Saturday.I couldn't find them Sunday.

LOL!!

Got through another Monday! Hey, for me, that's getting to be a pretty big deal ya know! This is the last week we are at our current office and Saturday we move to the new premises. So all week as we work we are packing. They even told us we could wear jeans and stuff this week.

I mentioned that another molar of mine broke on Friday, and I went to see Dr. I.L. Drillya this morning......only to find that he has to do ***drum roll please*** YET ANOTHER ROOT CANAL! Oh yes, my favourite thing, dont'cha know! So he can't really do anything temporary for now, and when I'm on holidays in September I'll go get that taken care of. OY. Until then unless it causes me any problems I apparently can chew food on that side of my mouth if I'm careful. Geezlouise. The girls there today told me I'm there so much lately that they should get me one of their uniforms to wear. LOL!

Hubby is banging away at the new front door as I type this, trying to put in a keyless lock. Not sure what his reasoning is behind that, as it also has a deadbolt, and we'll still need a key for that, no?? Hmmm maybe he's in some male menopause stage or something.........

I'm off and running peeps, so I'll wish you a fabulous Tuesday and catch you soon. Take good care of each other! ~ PEACE ~

WOMAN, 53, KILLS HUBBY OVER SINGING DOORCHIME. FILM AT 11

A good friend of mine sent me this last night, just when I needed a good ol' belly laugh ~ he said when he read this, it reminded him of ME! Yikes, am I giving off homicidal vibes to you all?? LOL!

Dear Tide:

I'm writing to say what an excellent product you have! I've used
it all through my married life, as my Mom always told me it was
the best.

Since I am now in my fifties, I find it even better! In fact,
about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white
blouse. My inconsiderate and uncaring husband started to berate
me about how clumsy I was.

One thing led to another and somehow I ended up with a lot of
blood on my white blouse. I tried to get the stain out using a
bargain detergent, but it just wouldn't come out. After a quick
trip to the supermarket, I purchased a bottle of liquid Tide with
bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of
the stains came out!

In fact, the stains came out so well the detectives who came by
yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse were negative
and then my attorney called and said that I would no longer be
considered a suspect in the disappearance of my husband.

What a relief! Going through menopause is bad enough without
being a murder suspect! I thank you, once again, for having such
a great product.

Well, gotta go. I have to write a letter to the Hefty bag people.

Too funny ~ gotta love it!

So here it is a Saturday a.m., and yet we are all up in this household with our alarm clocks at 7 a.m. Why in the world anyone would WANT to do that is beyond me, but in our case we HAVE to.....cuz the window guys are coming early to finish our windows! YAY!! I'm off now to go make some coffee to help me wake up. And for breakfast, um.....perhaps some baby food or something? I tell ya, if I don't at least lose some weight over this teeth issue I'll be P.O.'d!! LOL!

Have a terrific weekend everyone, and take care of each other. Until next post, PEACE to you and yours!

AARRGGHH!

That was the first time in all my life that I've sat through a dentist appointment that HURT! I had to go for a crown today, the first of 2 appointments. This one involved some drilling and stuff, the last one is just the final crown going on. Dr. I.L. Drillya froze me, but it seemed to freeze my cheek and lip more than my damn gum or tooth. OY. By the time I left there I was tired out. I came home and went right to bed to try and catch a nap, only to have hubby start banging away installing a new doorbell. Why is it that he MUST have a doorbell that plays stupid songs???? Geez. I complained and so he let me pick one. (it has 7 or 8 different "groups" of songs) I picked the sanest one there was, with some classical music on it. I love my classical music, but keep in mind it sounds a whole lot different on a doorbell than coming from a symphony. The neat thing is that it also has Christmas ones, and spooky Halloween ones. But oh my........why can't it just be a regular doorbell like the old one????

I'm going to watch The Odd Couple (movie) now on TV.....I love Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon!! Catch you later folks, I'm going to go nurse my sore mouth now. PEACE!

**UPDATE: So I get home from the dentist and a few hours later I'm eating, and ANOTHER MOLAR breaks off!! Called the dentist, he's gone and I can't get in till Monday. This is like a nightmare, geez! Just lost half of another tooth! This is so weird it's almost funny......or it would be if I could chew now to eat something, LOL Argh!

BEFORE AND AFTER

Here's the first before and after pics I've done on anything that's been done here so far..... I still haven't done the sidewalk ones yet as the front step isn't done so far. But how's this ~ whaddya think?

I am pooped. Got home from work, all the windows upstairs are done. Sister Pammie's windows downstairs still have to be done yet ~ there are 2 of them, both front of the house. They would have had it all completely done today, but they had measured hers wrong and need to make 2 new ones. GEEZLOUISE!!! Poor Pammie won't have a house yet for a bit.

Anyway I got home from work today and had to vaccuum and clean my bedroom, put the entire bedroom back together so we could sleep tonight. I've done not much else and my back is killing me. It's 10 p.m. and I just got out of a nice hot shower, and am about ready to hit the hay. And guess what?? I GET TO LEAVE MY BEDROOM THE WAY IT IS IN THE MORNING! Yay!!

Have a great Hump Day tomorrow everyone, PEACE to you all!

Now this is scarey as hell......CLONED PUPPY Why do we insist on playing God??? This really doesn't feel right to me, morally or anything else.

All right, now here's some REALLY scarey sheeite! Today was the first day the window/doors guys were here, and this is what I've come home to so far. They could be here for 2? 3? 4? days....who knows? Today at noon it rained for 10 minutes and was sunny the rest of the day....but they went home for the day when it started raining.

This is my not quite finished yet living room window. This is where they left off when it rained for a whole 10 minutes, making them call it a day. There is no framing done on it yet. The whiteish pile on the right is all our living room furniture piled up and covered. (I have no home right now). Oh, they got the kitchen and dining room ones done. Well, the kitchen one still needs more framing, and apparently the glass in that one is slightly marred, so they will be back in a couple weeks to replace the panes.

This is what my house looks like. And it will get worse, much worse, yet. Good thing hubby went out and bought us a shop vac. I ain't putting this stuff in my built in!! You should see my bedroom. OY.

Don't ask. The new front door will have an oval window in it, plus two opening windows on the sides, you know, those skinny side windows. I just shouldn't have had to look at this, it's too frightening for older menopausal women's hearts, don't you think?
I should have gone away for awhile. Anybody want a visitor?? I don't eat much and I'm quiet.

That's enough for today, I'm off to reassemble our bedroom so we can sleep tonight. Then in the morning, same as today, pack it all up again (bed and all) and cover up with dropsheets, come home after work and reassemble again.... I hope they get my bedroom windows done tomorrow so this crap can at least stop. Did I say, I have no home right now. I hope it doesn't rain again for 10 minutes......... wussy window people anyway.

Catch you again soon ~~ PEACE!

WHO NEEDS THE BATHROOM SHOWER?

I'm neither political by nature, or American, but an American friend sent me this and it was pretty funny ~~ so I thought I'd share it with you too. Click here for HILLARIOUS HILLARY Enjoy!

OKAY........ it's Saturday night, there are no shingles on our roof yet, hubby spent the entire day up there (scaring the sheeite out of me as always) preparing the roof for the advised evening thunder storm, by placing poly and tarps down. He was about 3/4 of the way done when clouds rolled in and the first drops started coming down. He finished up, and came in for the night......only to discover that we had a small shower happening from our bedroom ceiling. And of course, it was dripping off the light fixture...... OY VEY. Thank goodness there was only carpet under the light....at least it wasn't our bed getting soaked. (See? There's a silver lining in every cloud!!)
So.......up into the attic he went to find the source and do a fix, which we hope holds, as the storm is getting a bit worse now. This poor man has spent so much time in our attic the past week that he probably knows every spider by name. YECH! Anyway wish us luck, hopefully there won't be any more leaks!! It's still raining and there's quite the lightning and thunder show going on.

Tomorrow ~~ holds a lot of bullwork for us. Moving furniture to the middle of rooms and covering as much as we can with drop cloths, getting prepared for Monday and the window guys. Who will be sawing some of the openings to make them bigger. Making a mess I don't even wish to think about. Right now, as I sit here taking a break with shoulder muscles screaming they are so tense, I am wishing it was....oh say, October?? All this over with and cooler weather. BUT!! Once this is all over with, I'm looking forward to shiny new windows that won't be drafty in the winter. Yay!

Okay I'm off to bed soon, wishing you all a great Sunday ~~ take care of each other and I'll be back soon! ~PEACE~

MUSHROOMS + PEACHES = HORNY!!

Two things I love and eat a lot of, are mushrooms and peaches. That's a very good thing, according to this write up! GET FRISKY, NATURALLY
Read this and you might put some ZING! back into your libido the NATURAL way, apparently! Guess I know what I'm buying more of on my next grocery run, LOL

HUGE set back today......not a happy day at our house. My poor hubby has been working his bunyakas off, literally ~ he's even losing weight, night and day all this week he's been slaving like a dog in our attic and on the roof, trying to get it ready for shingling. Our brother-in-law and his two older sons were scheduled to show up here tomorrow a.m. (Saturday) as they offered to help hubby shingle for the weekend. Tonight hubby finally had to call it off, as he just has way too much more to get done to be ready. Poor guy, he's so down about it too..... and the thing is, we don't even know at this point if they'll be available at another time to come help him. I wish we could just afford to have it done professionally for us. I'm praying big time on this one, and hoping it all will work out somehow. In the meantime, we have nothing but plywood on our roof now and it's supposed to rain tomorrow! Anybody know how to do a REVERSE Rain Dance????

Monday the window company is showing up here to tear out every window in this house and install new ones. One of them, our bedroom, is being made bigger, as is the front door. Can you say, RENOVATION DUST EVERYWHERE AND ON EVERYTHING WE OWN???
God help me, I hope I make it through this in one sane piece.

I'm also having major computer issues......and I think (I hope that's all it is) it may be the anti virus program I installed. I may have to get rid of it and try another, and see if that helps. I keep losing connection and having to forever reboot.

On a happier note, I spent the evening today with 3 of my girlfriends at one of their houses, and she cooked us a fancy meal of chicken and home-made pasta! It was lovely to visit and share love, you know?

I'm off to chew my nails and hyperventilate now. Well okay maybe not really, but it feels like that's what I should be doing, LOL

Have an excellent weekend everyone ~ chow down on shrooms and peaches! Take good care of each other, and until next time ~ PEACE~

HONEY COME DOWN FROM THERE, YOU'RE SCARING ME

Ahhhh it's Hump Day again, and after having a Monday holiday, it's a short work week for a lot of us here in Canada. So today is my "Friday Wednesday" and I am a happy camper as I'm pooped already! Last night the hubby slept on his back most of the night (he was pooped too) and snored like a wailing banshee. Whatever that is. Needless to say I am very tired this morning and am looking forward to the end of this work day.

Lots to do though........ this weekend my brother-in-law and his 2 strapping grown lads are out here to help hubby re-shingle our roof. Yep, the sidewalk is done, hubby did a fabulous job and it looks beautiful! Now he's moved onto getting our roof done. Sure hope it doesn't rain now, LOL I took pictures of our cruddy old sidewalk before he tore it out and of our crumbling front step, so that eventually I could post before and after pictures on here. Well our step isn't done yet and for the moment he has a temporary plywood one in place. I'm hoping that gets finished by summer's end so I can post the pics!

Yesterday at work one of our young girls had a rough morning. An elderly gentleman with a bee in his bonnet came in and she took him at the counter. He was extremely rude and cranky to the point where she was crying after he left. I felt bad for her and tried to cheer her up, saying that his crankiness was HIS issue and had nothing to do with her, so to try and let it go and not let him ruin her day. I think she was feeling a bit better later on, but it took a few tears on her part to let it out. In all my years in the workforce I have noticed that some people really like to do whatever they can to ruin someone else's day by being nasty for no reason. When I was younger it bothered me a lot more ~ it still does when I get one of these customers now and then, but I can let it go more quickly than I used to. I just wonder how many other people he went on to abuse yesterday.....or was one enough to get it out of his system? I simply cannot imagine treating people that way. Even on my worst days, even when I was going through a really horrible time, I still kept my manners at least. I just may not have smiled as much as usual.

So as I said, hubby is working up on our roof now. It scares the sheeite out of me knowing he's up there ~ what if he fell off? It doesn't bear thinking about.......and it makes it hard for me to be at work while I know he's alone at home, and walking around on the top of our house, for heaven's sake! I worried about him all day yesterday and when I got home and he was still in one piece I breathed a sigh of relief, literally. I'm such a worry-wort, I know that.

Here's a funny for the ladies...... especially if you're a little older. It totally cracked me up!! I love good ol' belly laughs, don't you? Thanks to my buddy Debs for sending me this one!
Image hosted by Photobucket.comI think they call that multi-tasking, right?

I'm home from work now, I started this post this morning but ran out of time. It was a good day, went fairly quickly too. I am happy to say that my job position change to working out at the front counter is going well, and I'm happy. It was an extremely difficult challenge for me to let go so suddenly and try to appear "normal" on the outside while working out front, but it's something I worked hard at getting through the emotions of so that I could move on. Well with the help of all the wonderful people I work with (thanks Vickytoria, that means you too darling girl!) I have done it and I'm happy. Lots left yet for me to learn but it'll happen as time goes on. In 2 weeks we move our office to the new premises ~ much more spacious and everything new. It'll be a really gruelling weekend but 2 weeks after that I'm on 3 weeks holidays so it's all good.

Sorry that my posts have been a bit less frequent, I know you are all used to a busier blog here normally. But as I mentioned awhile ago, with all the crap going on in this house with repairs/renovations, it's been busy for me, and for the next 3 or 4 weeks will be at it's worst yet! I'll keep posting a few a week hopefully.......just don't give up on me if it's been a few days okay? I'll be back with a vengeance whether you like it or not! Bua ha ha ha!!!

Well peeps I'm going to finish this now and call this post "toast"! Have a wonderful week and take good care of each other, we're all we've got! ~ PEACE! ~
