PUPPY STRESS!

No, we haven't lost a pet...... but sister Pammie's two doggies (who are the lights of my life!) get sick now and then and scare the shit out of us. Misty, the silver one, is 8 yrs. old (Lady is 12) and has been unwell this week. Pam took her to the vet today, and I went along for moral support and well.......cuz I love the little sweethearts so much.

Turns out Misty has some arthritis and has been experiencing pain, which is why she's so stressed out and trembling so much. The pain meds she started her on tonight seem to be making a difference with the pain, thankfully. Now to see if she'll stop the trembling and being so obviously traumatized. If not, she may have to put her on another med for nervousness. We'll just have to watch and see. Poor thing.

There's more to all the stress surrounding Misty, but that's another matter I'd rather not get into. It has to do with another person. Anyway, Pam and I are trying to figure out how to resolve the matter and we keep hitting a brick wall. I hope you don't mind, but I am begging for prayers to help the situation .... I know it's hard to pray for something you're not sure of the facts.... but please can I just say, pray for the situation in this house involving Misty, and barking. I know it doesn't sound like much, but there is so much more to it, and it's tearing us up.

Thank you so much, you have no idea how much we need your help.

Okay before I get all teary-eyed... here's a few pics of Auntie's little angels..... Auntie being ME.

Misty and Lady (or "Bugs") visiting upstairs at Auntie's tonight.

With their Mom, my sister Pammie. Pam and I were playing crib, desperate to try and relax.

The two sweetest little things this side of heaven.

Okay on to another topic. Tomorrow (Saturday) is hubby's birthday party here. I'm making roast pork, my famous sour cream/dill smashed spuds, and carrots and corn. And sister Brenda is making her famous coleslaw with apple and toasted almonds, and her own dressing. Hubby wants an ice cream cake so he's getting that while he's out during the day. So as usual it'll be just our family coming.

I'm stressed to the max and need to get some sleep, it's after midnight so I had best try to get to bed right away. Thank you for "being here" with me tonight as I type this. In spirit, I know you are with me...... Take good care of each other, and PEACE be yours,

A QUIZ.... A FREAKY QUIZ...

I don't normally post many of these things on my blog, but I saw this one on KATE'S BLOG and when I tried it, it was SO right on that it almost freaked me out! I know it's a long one to read..... please bear with me and read it, and then try it yourself. The actual quiz is only 2 questions..... if you can believe it, but holy crap this was the most accurate of any quiz I've tried yet. The following will tell you a LOT about me, if you dare or care to check it out:

THE PEACEMAKER

"I am at Peace"......

Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them.

How to Get Along with Me

If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure.
I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advatage of this.
Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.
Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and nonjudgmentally.
Ask me questions to help me get clear.
Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.
Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.
I like a good discussion but not a confrontation.
Let me know you like what I've done or said.
Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life.

What I Like About Being a Nine

being nonjudgmental and accepting
caring for and being concerned about others
being able to relax and have a good time
knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around
my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator
my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now
being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe

What's Hard About Being a Nine

being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive
being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline
being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally
being confused about what I really want
caring too much about what others will think of me
not being listened to or taken seriously

Nines as Children Often

feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant
tune out a lot, especially when others argue
are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves

Nines as Parents

are supportive, kind, and warm
are sometimes overly permissive or nondirective

Like I said.....it's a long piece to post I know, and sorry 'bout that. I just really wanted to share this one cuz it's so freaking accurate.

I did a boo-boo yesterday with my blog and totally screwed it up. So I spent about 3 hours in the afternoon fixing it. (**rolls eyes**) All I did was delete ONE item from my template....but didn't "preview" it first, I just thought this one time it should be fine, it was only one little bitty thing I deleted.... and I saved the change. Then when I opened my blog page, the entire sidebar was SCREWED. Everything all over the place, on top of each other..... I almost kicked myself in the rear end. So.... I just sucked it up and had to re-load, re-code etc. until I had it all back again. What a pain. Moral? PREVIEW, PEOPLE. LOL

Hope you all have an excellent Thursday, take good care of each other, and PEACE! to you.....

LIGHT OF PEACE

It has snowed a bit more today, and I don't think you can really tell from the pictures below how beautiful it is outside. It is NIGHT here, 9:30 p.m. when it would be pitch black ~~ but it is so bright outside. What does it is the white snow on the ground, and the overcast condition of clouds in the sky. At night, it is so bright out there when it's like this, that you can see without light, as if it were just dusk. It's absolutely magical it's so beautiful.

Taken through the window of my front door.

Standing back...

I went outside and stood on my back step to take these next ones. It is very mild out temperature wise. Oh my, it is so quiet and peaceful out there. All sounds are muffled in the cocoon that is between the cloud cover and the snowy ground. It is standing in absolute SERENITY.

Shimmering rooftops...

Bathed in soft light...

Blissful peace....

No, now I can see that the pictures look darker than it is in reality out there. I wish you could all stand with me outside here right now and experience what it is I'm trying to convey. It is a feeling like you are at one with the Universe in all of it's goodness and beauty.

PEACE to you all,
Love Jude

SNOWY MONDAY IN THE PROVINCIAL CAPITAL

Well we're finally getting some of that white stuff! It's actually a pleasant enough day out there, not overly cold, just cold enough to turn the precipitation in our clouds overhead to snow instead of rain.

So after I'd had my morning wakeup cup of coffee, I grabbed my digital and headed out the back door to snap a few. It's one of those snowfalls where the world seems blanketed in silence. You know the difference sound makes in an empty room versus a room full of furniture, drapery etc.? It's like that...... the snow is falling, the sky is overcast with clouds, and all is so silent...

In these next two pictures you can KINDA see the snowflakes, a blur against the background of the fence.

I've spent a few minutes working on my blog links, sadly there are a few that I've taken off as they are no longer up and running. However on the up side, I've also added a few lately! My bloglinks aren't done alphabetically as you can see, I just add them on as I gets 'em.... so the newer ones are always added on at the very bottom. Welcome to the newest bunch, Ben, Jeremy and Lois! I always love adding to the groovy friendship here.

****UPDATE**** I have now also added Hoss to my links, welcome Hoss!

Off to get the grocery run done today, Trucker Bob asked for borscht ingredients ~ with me as the chef, no less. Well Bob sorry hon but how about a jar of ready-made? Nah.....never as good, is it?

Have a great week everyone, take good care of each other and pass out those hugs!

WORDS FROM A LOVED ONE

I have recently come across the blog of a retired gentleman who just recently lost his wife. I know there are others out there too, in the same situation. For Valentine's Day he posted this poem, and I just read it. Oh my it's beautiful, and I wanted to share it with you. For those of you who have lost a loved one, this will be meaningful to you as it is to me.........
Thank you to Dick over at "RV Travels With Huggy" for this one.

"Within You"

"If I be the first of us to die,
Let grief not blacken long your sky.
Be bold yet modest in your grieving.
There is a change but not a leaving.
For just as death is part of life,
The dead live on forever in the living.
And all the gathered riches of our journey,
The moments shared, the mysteries explored,
The steady layering of intimacy stored,
The things that made us laugh or weep or sing,
The joy of sunlit snow or first unfurling of the spring,
The wordless language of look and touch,
The knowing,
Each giving and each taking,
These are not flowers that fade,
Nor trees that fall and crumble,
Nor are they stone,
For even stone cannot the wind and rain withstand
And mighty mountain peaks in time reduce to sand.
What we were, we are.
What we had, we have.
A conjoined past imperishably present.
So when you walk the wood where once we walked together
And scan in vain the dappled bank beside you for my shadow,
Or pause where we always did upon the hill to gaze across the land,
And spotting something, reach by habit for my hand,
And finding none, feel sorrow start to steal upon you,
Be still.
Close your eyes.
Breathe.
Listen for my footfall in your heart.
I am not gone but merely walk within you."

S. Hancock

And speaking of losses, there are 2 of my bloglink buddies who are just dealing with the loss of their pets. To Michael and to Patty, hang in there. I know it hurts, they are just like our kids. The biggest hugs to you both!

Well another Saturday at work is done.... and we were SLAMMED! Man was it busy! We have a long weekend here in Alberta, it is a Monday holiday, "Family Day". So I'm looking forward to the extra day off with pay, that will be nice. I hope you are all having a good weekend ~~ take good care of each other, and be sure your loved ones KNOW how you feel about them. Until next time.....

AND WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT OF MALE ANATOMY.....

How to keep solicitors from knocking on your door....

Neither man nor woman would feel "comfortable" knocking with those....um, knockers?

Not a lot of news here at my end of the computer. I've been enjoying a few days off (in a row!!) and getting some much needed sleep. Today is laundry day, the stacking Terror Twins in my basement call to me as I type this. First load done, next one ready to go in....

I've been saying all winter long that we haven't HAD winter yet. The last few days we have finally been 'blessed' with normal winter temperatures....down to -29 at night WITHOUT the wind chill. That's something like -20F for my American neighbours. Today started out much the same, but it is supposed to warm up this afternoon and keep warming up. I think Monday is supposed to be above zero. Sheesh huh? And snow? We've still only got a little trace of it on the ground. We're in big trouble if we don't get a ton of rain this spring..... already when the wind blows, you get a mouth full of grit and dirt, and it gets in your eyes. That's not a good thing....

Well I must run. Okay walk. These old knees of mine won't allow the former. I wish you all a fabulous weekend, and Rhonda dear I hope the ice storm coming isn't going to be too bad.... I'm sending you positive vibes! Patty girl, call me tonight if you need a shoulder hon. I've been thinking of you all day and will continue to do so...

Take care of each other, we're all we've got! PEACE!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PENIS

Today's post is all about that piece of male anatomy that has so many differents names.......the penis.

And why not? I happen to have a "thing" for them. Like most normal red blooded and still warm females of the heterosexual persuasion. Not to mention some of the gay male friends I have here. And for those of you males who are straight, I have a feeling you won't mind this post anyway, seeing as most of you seem to have a fairly healthy obsession with that part of yourselves anyway.

So here's just a few little tidbits (oops sorry, poor choice of words there) ....here's a few gronkin' huge items about THE PENIS.

First, a funny. We women happen to like our breasts too. But look what they make us do to them.... squish them halfway to the moon and back in some cold metal clamp-of-death machine into the shape of a pancake. Literally!! I'm thinking that perhaps the PENIS might need a penogram once a year? A dickogram? Okay how about this.....

Oh yeah baby....

What's good for the goose is good for the gander?

Yeah, 'OWCH' you say..... well it's the same for us women and our poor "ma'ams". But I'm not here to try and crush the PENIS, it's my friend afterall. No, no..... treat it tenderly, I say.

How about all those names this little big guy has, too? Penis, dick, dork, wang, rod, woody, prick, schlong (that one always makes me giggle, don't know why), wanker, weenie, dong, Walter.... oops sorry that's a personal one. (you know, DeWalt? It's my personal "tool", de Walt) Anyway you get the picture. And this doesn't even touch all the personal names that men and adoring women alike have given their.... playmates. My personal favourite is the "Heat Seeking Moisture Missile". It's just a little long to scream out in the throws of passion.

I must admit to a little jealousy on my part when it comes to the PENIS. What female in their right mind doesn't wish she could write her name in the snow (or all over the bathroom) instead of having to pull half her clothes off and sit? Ah well, we can't have it all, now can we?

Well you might be wondering why on earth the old hippie chick decided to post about the PENIS today, and before you go off thinking I'm just a prevert, that's not true. (well not entirely)

It was this picture that got me started........

A LITTLE PRICK(ly), ANYONE?

So to all you dinks out there, I think you're just SWELL.

This was fun, we should do it again sometime, no?

Love Jude (hi Walter!)
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I hope you all get hit square in the heart today with Cupid's Arrow! >>------> Image hosting by Photobucket

.......and a few tasty chocolates in a heart-shaped box wouldn't hurt either, right? **wink**

And seeing as it's ANOTHER time of year again, here's a chuckle for today:

"A man has spent many days crossing the desert without water. His camel dies of thirst. He's crawling through the sands, certain that he has breathed his last breath, when all of a sudden he sees an object sticking out of the sand several yards ahead of him.

He crawls to the object, pulls it out of the sand, and discovers what looks to be an old briefcase. He opens it and out pops a genie...

But this is no ordinary genie. He is wearing an IRS ID badge and a dull gray suit.

There's a calculator in his pocket. He has a pencil tucked behind one ear.

"Well kid," says the genie. "You know how it works. You have three wishes."

"I'm not falling for this." says the man. "I'm not going to trust an IRS agent."

"What do you have to lose? You've got no transportation and it looks like you're a goner anyway!"

The man thinks about this for a minute and decides that the genie is right.

"Okay, I wish I were in a lush oasis with plenty of food and drink."

***POOF*** The man finds himself in the most beautiful oasis he has ever seen. And he is surrounded with jugs of wine and platters of delicacies.

"Okay kid, what's your second wish?"

"My second wish is that I were rich beyond my wildest dreams."

***POOF*** The man finds himself surrounded by treasure chests filled with rare gold coins and precious gems.

"Okay kid, you have just one more wish. Better make it a good one!"

After thinking for a few minutes, the man says: "I wish that no matter where I go, beautiful women will want and need me."

***POOF*** He is turned into a tampon.

The moral of the story?

If the IRS offers you anything, there's going to be a string attached"

Off to work again shortly, as soon as I can shake the cobwebs of sleep (yes.... blessed sleep!) out of my head, and get moving. I hope you all have a great day, and until we meet here again PEACE to you!

SUNDAY WANDERINGS

This is one of the funniest jokes I've heard in awhile.....okay well it just struck me that way! LOL I got this from a "corny joke" thread on a forum I belong to:

A woman pregnant with triplets was walking down the street when a masked robber ran out of a bank and shot her three times in the stomach.

Luckily the babies were okay. The surgeon decided to leave the bullets in because it was too risky to operate. She gave birth to two healthy daughters and a healthy son. All was fine for 16 years, and then one daughter walked into the room in tears.

"What's wrong?" asked the mother.

"I was taking a tinkle and this bullet came out," replied the daughter. The mother told her it was okay and explained what happened 16 years ago.

About a week later the second daughter walked into the room in tears. "Mom, I was taking a tinkle and this bullet came out." Again the mother told her not to worry and explained what happened 16 years ago.

A week later her son walked into the room in tears. "It's okay" said the Mom, "I know what happened. You were taking a tinkle and a bullet came out."

"No," said the boy, "I was playing with myself and I shot the dog."

I've heard of being so mad you could spit bullets..... ROTF!!

Wow the weekends, or what's left of 'em, sure go fast when you work Saturdays. Did my running around today (Sunday) doing the usual grocery run etc. and now here it is a few hours before bedtime, and work again in the morning.

I've been working for...... I guess almost 40 years now. I don't know how that happened. All I ever wanted was to be a mom, and have babies and stay at home raising them. (not that many couples don't have to both work these days) Anyway because of that, I was never career-minded, I always just held down the "secondary job" to bring in a supplemental income until I got preggers. Well sadly I was never blessed with bambinos and to my shock and horror I had to keep *dirty word*working*dirty word. Well it isn't really a dirty word at all, but it is if you wanted to be home raising babies and had to just keep going into the office every day instead. Anyway it's all fine now, I've gotten over that sadness years ago.... but after this many years I can see why some people want badly to retire "early". Well if I keep going by the Grace of God, I'll be still at the job I'm in now and they will retire me (mandatory) in 11 years. Holy crap you say? Well every Sunday night that seems waaaay too long to this old hippie chick! You know, I am thinking that if I asked everyone in the blogosphere to donate just a couple of bucks each, I could probably quit work. Right? Uh-HUH. A much better way to spend that money would be for a good charity so, so much for that, I'll be at work tomorrow. *sigh* In reality, I'm blessed that I am able to work, without any disabilities to keep me from it. I know that.

Well chicks and dudes, it's time to click the send button as this post is toast! I wish all of you a great week, take care of each other and PEACE be yours!

FUN STUFF ABOUT BEING A WOMAN

I got this in an email, I'd seen it before but I laughed just as hard this time. Hell, I might have even posted this on here already a long time ago, but I'm too lazy to go back and check. Besides, it's worth posting again anyway..... for you men out there, you can read this stuff today and be happy you don't have to worry about body hair and menopause issues! LOL!

All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of easy, painless removal - The epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now...the wax.

My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, play with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours: "Maybe I should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet." So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom.

It was one of those "cold wax" kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them
apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off. No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I ammechanically inclined enough to figure this out (YA THINK!?!).

So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get
out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees (cold wax...yeah, right!).

I lay the strip across my thigh. Hold the skin around it tight and pull. It works! OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this! Hair removal no longer eludes me! I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.

With my next wax strip I move north. After checking on the kids, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship. I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet. Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my vagina and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (yes, it was a long strip). I inhale deeply and brace myself....RRRRIIIPPP!!!!

I'm blind!!! Blinded from pain!!!!....OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip. CRAP!!! Another deep breath and RRIIPP!! Everything is swirly and spotted. I think I may pass out...must stay conscious...do I hear crashing drums??? Breathe, breathe...OK, back to normal.

I want to see my trophy - a wax-covered strip, the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it. I want to revel in the
glory that is my triumph over body hair. I hold up the strip! There's no hair on it. Where is the hair??? WHERE IS THE WAX??? Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the hair. The hair that should be on the strip. I touch. I am touching wax. CRAP!

I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair. I know I need to do something. Then I make the next BIG mistake........remember my foot is still propped up on the toilet? So I put my foot down. DAMN!!!!!!!!

I hear the slamming of a cell door. Vagina? Sealed shut! Butt?? Sealed shut!

I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and think to myself "Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off! "

What can I do to melt the wax? Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!! I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should melt and I can gently wipe it off, right???

*WRONG!!!!!!!*

I get in the tub - the water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit.

Now, the only thing worse than having your nether-regions glued together, is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot water. Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax. So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cement-epoxied myself to the porcelain!!

God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!!! I call my friend, thinking surely she has waxed before and has some secret of how to get me undone.

It's a very good conversation starter "So, my butt and who-ha are glued together to the bottom of the tub!" There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me. She wants to know exactly where the wax is located, "Are we talking cheeks or hole or who-ha?" She's laughing out loud by now...I can hear her.

I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box. YEAH!!!!! Right!! I should be the joke of someone else's night. While we go through various solutions. I resort to scraping the wax off with a razor. Nothing feels better then to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!!

By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this
event. My friend is still talking with me when I finally see my saving grace....the lotion they give you to remove the excess wax. What do I really have to lose at this point?

I rub some on and OH MY GOD!!!!!!! The scream probably woke the kids and scared the dickens out of my friend. It's sooo painful, but I really don't care. "IT WORKS!! It works!!"

I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up. I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair....

THE HAIR IS STILL THERE.......ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts. I could have amputated my own leg at this point. Image hosting by Photobucket

Next week I'm going to try hair color......

Friendship is like peeing your pants . Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

And this following exerpt is from Fat Lady Sings She totally "gets" it about my sleeping issues and menopause in general.....so much so that I had to share this here.....

"As for sleep - hell; I managed some over the weekend, but only because my hubby got up before I did and fed our zoo letting me sleep in. I just can't sleep at night - doesn't matter if I have to get up at dawn either. My body and mind just won't shut down long enough. I've always had this problem (that's why working in the theatre suited - if fit my natural inclinations). But I have to say ever since menopause reared its pissy head my sleep patterns have decided to imitate an Escher print.

You know, it's the physical issues that make age somewhat of a bitch. I mean, I just love where my head is at. I actually feel all grown up; and by that I mean I think before I leap. And I haven't gotten all fogeyish, I can still hang with the best of 'em. My taste in music, art and culture haven't remained frozen within the confines of my generation. All that marvelous stuff that goes on inside is chugging along nicely. If only my body would follow suit! That's the part that sucketh the most. My spirit is always willing, the flesh I'd love to trade in for a newer model. But then, as I've always said, God only gives you a warrantee till you're 30. After that, you're on your own!"

Yup, she "gets" it! Image hosting by Photobucket Thank you FLS!!

Well we all made it to another Friday huh? I'd like to wish those of you who work weekdays a good weekend starting tomorrow.... I'll be at work but I get my days off during the week right now.

And Patty, thanks for the chat.... and I'll be finally meeting you in 3 weeks! (just in time for you to leave our beautiful province....) That just makes me sad, girl!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone, take good care of each other and God bless.....

PEACE!

HAPPY HUMPING DAY!

It's the middle of another week, and I ask myself, "another one, already??" Where does time go to? And so FAST too! It's no wonder why when I look in the mirror I see more grey hairs and wrinkles sneaking up on me so fast. Well, time doesn't stand still, we all can count on that. That, and taxes.

Speaking of time..... it's about time I got another post on here. I know you have probably all been waiting, tapping your foot. (sure Jude!)

Where's that post of hers? Where is it?

Now here's a smart fella. I could learn something here..... next hot flash I get? Guess where I'll be!

Cross-eyed and cute!

And here's one for Trucker Bob......

This one reminds me of your Lil' Bear. Too damn cute!!

The good news of the day in my house is, I've just had 2 (count 'em, TWO!) good sleeps in a row! After months of not getting much in the way of a decent sleep, I am happy to finally get more than just "one in a row". But why do I feel so dang exhausted and sleepy?? Must need to catch up some I guess.

I just got my first piece of mail yesterday that contains a tax receipt in it. I had forgotten that it's that time of year again, soon I'll be heading off to my accountant's with papers in hand, hoping for another refund. Maybe this year the government will make a mistake and give me lots more than they're supposed to.....and never find out about it.

...and speaking of "dreaming" (LOL!) in a couple of hours I'm heading back to bed for a nice nap. Ahhhh I can almost feel the warmth of my bed already......

So chicks and dudes, have a great Wednesday! Take good care of each other, and I'll see you back here again soon. PEACE!!

BLOGGER DOWN TONIGHT

So blogger will be down tonight for about an hour for maintenance, between 7pm and 8pm PST. I just got home from work but figured I'd get a new post in under the wire here before it's down.

I laughed my ass off (don't I WISH) at this one, I hope you enjoy it.....

This is something to think about when negative people are doing
their best to rain on your parade.

Remember this story the next time someone who knows nothing,
and cares less, tries to make your life miserable.

A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip
to Rome with her husband. She mentioned the trip to the
hairdresser, who responded:

Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty.
You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?"

"We're taking Continental," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"

"Continental?" exclaimed the hairdresser. "That's a terrible airline.
Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're
always late.

So, where are you staying in Rome?"

"We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome's Tiber River
called Teste."

"Don't go any further. I know that place.
Everybody thinks its gonna be something special and exclusive, but
it's really a dump, the worst hotel in the city! The rooms are
small, the service is surly, and they're overpriced.

So, whatcha' doing when you get there?"

"We're going to go to see the Vatican and we hope to see the Pope."

"That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. "You and a million other
people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on
this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it."

A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo.
The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome.

"It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not only were we on time
in one of Continental's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and
they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful,
and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and
foot. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million
remodeling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city.
They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their
owner's suite at no extra charge!"

"Well," muttered the hairdresser, "that's all well and good, but I
know you didn't get to see the Pope."

"Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican, a
Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope
likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to
step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me.
Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door
and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me."

"Oh, really! What'd he say?"

He said: "Where'd you get the shitty Hairdo?"

I hope everyone survived their Monday all right? I put in a day on the job with only 1 - 1/2 hrs. sleep last night. OY VEY. Hubby was restless all night. But it was a good day nonetheless and hopefully I'll do better tonight.

Here's wishing you all a good week, and until next time take good care of each other! PEACE!

WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, TAKE PICTURES

Still not a lot happening around here that's exciting to report, and in a lot of ways that's a good thing, right? Just spending some restful time at home for a few days this week and enjoying the extra zzzz's. It feels like I haven't had a decent sleep for months. But just to have some fun I took a picture of my favourite snacks of late.

Carrots and 3 Cheese Ranch dressing; Ranch flavoured Crispers (baked not fried!); and Butter Toffee peanuts. I've eaten so many carrots I think my skin is about to turn orange.

Well I had the camera in hand and didn't want to stop there, so I thought I'd show you my new lamp. Yup, now the lamp-buying is finished. I needed something at the top of the stairs when you come in the house, and this seemed to suit the bill.

Kinda modernish, kinda kinky.....but it still goes with my other new ones because of the frosted shade (same shape too), and the dark metal base. Nothing has to "match", they just have to co-ordinate. Looks not too bad, no?

And hell why not keep going? I can't believe the sunny warm Alberta we are experiencing this winter. It's February folks, we're supposed to be freezing! And have snow up to our.....well. You know. But it's like autumn or spring out there, and I positively love it.

Look at this Alberta Blue sky.....

Patty girl, are you SURE you want to leave Alberta?? LOL I know... other things are more top priority right now!! (I'm very happy for you!!)

See? The van is gone again across the street! LOL Yup it's weird to have no snow.

Sunny, warm, no snow, and although we haven't got buds on our trees yet of course, like Kim does, the orange berries of the Mountain Ash trees look beautiful, and the lawns may not be green but they are visible in February!

I just LOVE the big old blue spruce outside one of my bedroom windows. Had to show you how the window "frames" it so nicely. The main trunk is almost as big around as me. Well.....almost. *snort*

And that's it for the pics I took,

Hey! How on earth did THIS get here??? And more importantly, how die HE get in my bedroom?? ROTF!

Incidentally these pics were taken yesterday, and when the last one was posted, I was actually heading downstairs to finish the last load of laundry......which was all hubby's white undies! LOL!!

Well folks, I'm off to my sister's soon for her birthday party so I hope you all have a great weekend. Take good care of each other and don't forget to dispense smiles and hugs freely. They're both free and leave a bit of sunshine for others. PEACE!!!

GETTING SOME R&R AND LOVIN' IT

It's been nice to have more than just a couple of days off in a row for a change...especially after feeling so exhausted from a virus. I must say, I really miss my old schedule of 4 days off in a row, and I started feeling the effects of not having that a couple months ago. Hopefully in a couple/few more months that will go back to normal..... I sure hope so!

Speaking of going crazy.......

Should You Be Institutionalized?

It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time, and this should help get you started.

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalized

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."

"No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a room with or without a view?"

......I guess I'd prefer a room with a view. Anyone need to join me? LOL

We'll be heading about 45 minutes out of town on Saturday to my sister Brenda's for her family birthday party. She hasn't hit the big 5-0 yet so I still can't tease her much. Nor is she as wise as I am yet either, heh heh (wise guy, more like it, LOL) So as always, I look forward to the good eats and good company. In another few weeks I'll be hosting my hubby's birthday party, and a few weeks after that, I'll be hosting another one for sister Pammie. Then comes mine in April. **grin**

Well folks as you can see, not much to report here, just wanted to pop in and say hello and share in the groovin' vibes. Take good care of each other and PEACE to you!

So I ended up with an unexpected day off today...and man it couldn't have come at a nicer time. I am going to SLEEP today, and try catching up on some rest. Feeling better, still don't have much of a voice but it's coming back the less I talk. (damn, eh honey?)

You guys have a fantastic Hump Day, and take good care of each other out there.

PEACE!!
