Hubby was so jealous, he broke one of their legs. Honest, he really did! See in that last picture, the other one is laying prone on the floor, upside down with his legs stuck up in the air. Hubby has the broken leg glued and clamps on it. The poor thing. Bad jealous hubby! Now mamma may have to go out and buy these two cowboys new boots.

Sexy little numbers in 100% leather, no not "red" leather Lexy, but a nice dark brown. Oooh la la, but my heart beat faster when I saw these two guys sitting in a store. And then when I sat in one of them, I was hot flashin' all over the place when I saw how gooood it felt, I fit right into the bad boy's lap just perfectly, if you know what I mean. Yes, we just "fit" so damn good......

Bringing one of these sexy boys home with me would have been luscious, but TWO of them will be able to keep mamma happy, oh yeah baby.....

Now, what did I do with my rope and saddle massage cream.........?

Today the window people came out and re-installed all the stuff that was less than perfect. Hopefully that's the last we'll have to see of them. AND.....I finished painting all the window frames today!! Now whenever hubby gets the door frame back on, I just have to do that. Well, and the door itself.

And for all of you that have been complaining (and rightly so!) about how Halloween stuff goes on the shelves in August, Christmas stuff in October, etc. etc., here's a brilliant joke that my dear friend Monica sent me. Enjoy!

How true huh?

We got a Home Depot flyer in the mail yesterday, and there is a ANOTHER set of 4 light fixtures on sale. (the last set I got at Walmart, all lamps) This is 2 more flush mount ceiling fixtures that actually compliment our new living room ones very nicely, plus a dining room chandelier/fixture thingy, and one lamp. All one set for $119 for heaven's sake! So as soon as it's too dark for hubby to work outside (which should be in about.....5 minutes, lol) we're going to have a look see. We desperately need a new dining room fixture. Mine was here when I moved in 13 yrs. ago and it looks like *coughstringartcough*. It's howlin' buttugly. So I better get ready to go, don't forget to "enter" the caption contest!!! You all have a good Thursday, and take good care of each other!

LAST OF THE FLOWERS

As summer slowly faded away, so did her bounty of colourful flowers. I have had a couple of bushes of the most striking red and yellow flowers on one side of my front step now for a few years. I can't remember what they are called, but I love them.

ONE VERY LONELY FLOWER

Keep in mind that this year, our lawns and few flower beds got NO attention and no planting. Even worse, they got dug up a bit in spots when the new sidewalk went in, and trampled on shamelessly when the new windows were being put in right above the flower beds. So, where there used to be flowers, is now only dirt. But these 2 beautiful bushes survived, the hearty things. They must be Canadian, LOL. And one lonely pansy. Looks like it's saying, "I'll be back next year if you'll just look after me next time." Well little flower, hopefully NEXT summer we'll actually be tending to our yard, instead of destroying it. Hang in there!

GOD BLESS YOU, ROSA

A great, great lady died yesterday. Rosa Parks gave millions of us inspiration and pride. I was only 3 years old when she stood up for her rights on a bus, but I remember hearing the story over and over as I grew up. Go on over to VAN'S blog to read an excellent post about this beautiful soul.

Getting ready for some company this Saturday. Sister Pammie is having her annual Halloween Dinner, where she makes cool dishes with ghoulish and grisly names, like Fingernail Salad and Baked Brains. AND, we're doubling that up making it a belated Birthday Party for our bro-in-law Rory. So here's the deal:

Pammie still doesn't have living room furniture down stairs, but she has a kitchen with a big old table. I on the other hand, still don't have my dining room set up yet, but I DID haul a couple of end tables and my new lamps into my living room so that it can be kinda-sorta used. So, we'll be eating downstairs in Pammie's kitchen, and then coming up here to hang out in my sort-put-back-together living room. No drapes up, still tools and ladders all over the place, but HEY it'll work!

Well it's a day off for me today and the ONLY day this week that I'll be able to try and catch up on some sleep. So folks, I'm off soon to have myself a nice afternoon nap. Hubby is working outside on a project so it'll be peaceful in the house. Have yourselves a grand ol' Tuesday and take care of each other!

I AM A SUNGODDESS AND OTHER FUNNY STUFF

Okay the laugh's on me at work. The previous post with the pictures of our new office? The inside shots looked different to me, and I thought it wasn't OUR office. Guess what? It's the camera angles or something, it does look different....but it IS our office. AND, YOURS TRULY IS EVEN IN THE SHOT FOR PETE'S SAKE!! I remember the day they were in there doing a photo shoot too. The pictures are so small you can barely even make any of us out, but I'm sitting on the right side on the working side of the counter. You can just make out my head, my hair's back in a pony tail so I'm all "face" in a side-shot. My co-worker Brenda is across from me on the member side of the counter. She's wearing purple.

Geezlouise. They laughed at me at work lemme tell ya. Hey leave me alone, I'm mentalpausal okay?


That's not the first time I've been in a photo shoot that I didn't realize made it to print either. Years ago, I went many times to the same gorgeous little condo unit on Maui. One day I was sunbathing around the pool and wasn't even aware that there was a photographer taking pics of the place for a future brochure. The very same brochure that ended up in my hands awhile later, that I was showing to my family and friends saying "this is the place I go to", and then looking again and saying, "Hey!! That's ME in the picture!!"

MAUI SUN GODDESS

That's me on the right reading a book, with a white sun hat on so I don't faint from the heat. The girl beside me on my right adjusting her bathing suit top is my friend Jane, wearing the same white sun hat as mine. Jane and I almost crapped ourselves when we realized it was us.

You didn't know you were blog-associating with such a famous brochure star, did you??
Neither did I, till I just realized it's happened to me twice now! Autographs later peeps.




Back to reality, I read this in a comment a guy made over at Lexy's blog. I couldn't stop laughing for at least 10 minutes.

"Remember, be nice to the ladies! Anything that bleeds for a week and doesn't die deserves RESPECT!!!"

Halloween Party

A couple was invited to a swanky masked Halloween Party. She got a
terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone. He
being a devoted husband protested, but she argued and said she was going
to take some aspirin and go to bed, and there was no need of his good time being
spoiled by not going.So he took his costume and away he went. The wife, after sleeping
soundly for about an hour, awakened without pain and, as it was still early,
she decided to go the party.
Since her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she
would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was
not with him. She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on
the dance floor, dancing with everynice chick he could, and copping a little feel here and a little kiss
there. His wife sidled up to him and being a rather seductive babe
herself, he left his partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new stuff
that had just arrived. She let him go as far as he wished; naturally, sincehe
was her husband.
Finally, he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed,
so off they went to one of the cars and had a little bang. Just before
unmasking at midnight, she slipped away, went home, put the costume
away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make for
his behavior.
She was sitting up reading when he came in, and she asked what kind of a time
he had. He said: Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you're
not there.
Did you dance much?
I'll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met
Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the den and
played poker all evening. But you're not going to believe what happened to the
guy I loaned my costume to......."

It's a day off for me today, and I've done some more painting of window frames. Still have more to do yet. I'M WAITING AS FAST AS I CAN

Today I'm off work, and I've been painting. *sigh* Actually it hasn't been going so badly, I've done 2 of sister Pammie's windows downstairs, and only have her bedroom window to do. But I'll wait until she can crawl over her bookcase and get her curtains down first, lol. I've also been working on the trim on our doors in the hallways, kitchen etc. I'm doing my very best to keep things going here, I'm tired of "waiting fast" for all this to get done!

Tomorrow, however, I'm back at work for a day (then not till Saturday) as we are having our Grand Opening!! Our center is kind of the "showplace" now for what AMA offices throughout the province will eventually be looking like. WE'RE the leader, what can I say? meh heh heh heh....

GETTING READY FOR ALL HALLOW'S EVE

I have my spooky earrings ready to go. Lexy, I bet you like the black kitty kat ones. They have tiny little bell-thingys in them, so they make the softest little sound when they swing on my ears. Lately we almost always have at least a skiff of snow on Halloween. I wonder if we will have the white stuff this year too? It's certainly been a lovely autumn so far.

NEW LIVING ROOM LAMPS

Wallymart was good to me, this set of 4 cool lamps only cost $49.00 which isn't bad at all. Actually in the last post I made about hubby getting rust on our carpet, you can see where I put the floor lamp from this new set in there, just to see how it would look. It looks beautiful. They have that exact same really dark brown that is on our new ceiling fixtures, and they have "faux leather" shades. Cool. Wouldn't they look divine with hardwood floors? And my oh-so desired little red loveseats and black leather tub chairs? I have it all in my head what I want, you know. Lotto 649 is up to $25 million, and I bought my usual $3 ticket on Sunday.

Does anybody else watch the Food Channel? There is a show on there about a family who owns and runs a Greek Restaurant, the show is called "The Family Restaurant". Anybody know that show? Guess what? That restaurant is just down the street from where I live! Holy crap huh? If I liked Greek food I would go there and say, "hey I watch you on TV every week!"


Our kitchen tap decided it didn't want to give us any water pressure when running hot water. Hubby went out and bought a beautiful set, but also ended up buying a whole new kitchen sink to go along with it. (the new taps weren't compatible with the old sink "holes"?)

Oh yeah, all shiny and bright. It's got the soap dispenser (haven't had much luck with those so far but we'll see if this one's better) and the spray thingy, and the tap is nice and high for filling tall pots and stuff. (The strange little tap thingy on the left we already had, it's for the water distiller in the basement, so we can get pure water right at our sink. Except the distiller needs fixing, it has for about 5 years now, lol.) It only took him all day (12 hours) to get it done, but hubby just finished it. Karen, you get yours done yet sweetie? Yikes huh? Good luck darlin'.

SAVIN' YOUR BACON

Now this is a cool idea, and hilarious at the same time. Sister Pammie told me about this, and I had to check it out. SAVE MY ASS. Somebody just knew there was a need for this, probably that somebody got into trouble with the little lady one too many times, heh heh.

HUBBY WAS A BAD, BAD BOY

See those two love seats? Yes, the ugly 80's looking ones that are pink and blue, I know.....don't fall out of your chairs laughing, I have no money to replace them with the really cool ones I want. Anyway. They are both reclining, and don't have regular sofa legs. They are all metal criss-cross bottoms that sit on the floor.

I told hubby when he steam cleaned the carpet (yes, that really gross light rose coloured crap you see here, that I ALSO can't afford to replace and that is why I SO covet Lexy's hardwood every time I see it).......anyway. When he steam cleaned, I told him that he should put cardboard down under the metal bottoms of the love seats. But did he? Well, let's just say that now we have lovely rust stains where they were sitting on the wet carpet. Bad, bad hubby.

And not only that, but a couple of days after he cleaned them, he was opening a bottle of his Black Cherry soda down at the front landing. It exploded, and now we have red/pink stains on the carpet of the first step. Did he clean it up right then while it was wet? Nooooooooo.....of course not. He let it dry on there overnight and let ME discover it the next day. Even the ace spot remover he bought isn't getting it off. He'll have to try something else. Something that will remove both cherry soda AND rust from an ugly light rose carpet. Bad dog, no biscuit, hubby!!! (His ass definitely needs saving, IMO)

As you can see, the rooms still aren't set up at all yet, there are still tools laying around, the baseboards are on, but the window frames need sanding and painting, and the drapery rods are sitting there waiting to be reinstalled. Don't look at me, that's hubby's job.

Today is Sunday and hubby isn't home, and sister Pammie and I are running out to do groceries and errands. It's raining outside, so I'd best be wearing my hair up under a ball cap or I'll be looking like a giant brillo pad with the fuzzy kinky hair. Do I want to wear my Mickey Mouse cap, or my new Leppy cap?? Decisions, decisions....... You guys have a terrific Sunday, and take care of each other!

HIPPIE CHICK MEME

We have too many f*cking windows. *sigh*

When the new windows were installed, unbeknownst (is that a word?) to me, the frames indoors all only came PRIMED. That means not painted. Huh. They're primed white, so I thought.......well anyway I thought wrong. I now have semi gloss white paint and I have to paint them all.


I just finished doing our kitchen window, the first one. I'm sore and tired and I hate all the taping off, it's the worst part. So I sat down here to complain to you about it. (do you still love me even a little bit?) **grins**

I have 7 more windows to do, and one of them you can call about 3 windows, it's the HUGE living room window. HEY!!! I almost forgot, the whole front door is the same too!!!!

We have too much f*cking painting to do. *sigh*

While I'm on the "bad news", I might as well tell you another story. My sister Brenda and her hubby Rory and the kids just lost one of their 2 big dogs several months ago, she had cancer. It was a really tough time for the family. Yesterday, she took the other dog in as he had a very sore paw. Guess what? He's got bone cancer and there's nothing that can be done. It's just too much, and I feel sooooo bad for them...... please say a prayer for the family if you are so inclined. They could use a little emotional strength right now. Thank you!!

BABY SQUIRREL SAVED

What a sweet doggie!! Makes me wanna love her up with some scratches and hugs!

Last night after work, sister Pammie and I went out for dinner with my best pal Michele and another great friend, Leona. We went to Cheesecake and had a great meal and visit. I ended up packing it in before 8 p.m. though, I was so pooped. I had Seafood Quiche, and a tall glass of iced tea. Yum.


Oh, now this is kinda cool!
MSN & YAHOO TO CHAT IT UP. I have both for I.M. and some of my friends don't have one or the other. Huh, what'll they think of next?

Today is laundry day for me, and trying to get some of the clean-up/rearranging done around this house of mine. This is gonna take a LOOOOOONG time I can tell, hubby has so much to do and some of the things I'm waiting for may not get done as "pronto" as I hoped, like baseboards being re-attached, drapery rods being re-installed, etc. I can't do too much in the way of getting my stuff back into the living room and dining room until those things are done. ARGH.

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+
birthday.

Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was "exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first. The audience laughed so hard they cried.
She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!
Maya Angelou said this: "I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."

"I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way
he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and
tangled Christmas tree lights."

"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your
parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life."
